Hiya, well done on the breastfeeding! I stoppped at 4 months, and only got my period yesterday, Sam is 7 months old on the 9th! I think you can get pg if you havent had your period tho, my dr told me when he was talking about contraception

Good luck! I want no 2 as well

Im still breast feeding my 5 month old atm still not having periods. My friend said hers came back bout 2 months after she finished feeding. My mum said hers came back while she was still breast feeding so think it might vary from person to person x

Hi i stopped bfeeding my twins at 8 months and two weeks later without af i fell pg with no3. I stopped bfeeding DS in dec when he was 4 months, i had af on 12th feb but waiting for next one and its been 7 weeks but im not pg.

We are also ttc and it is frustrating not having af, doc said they usually return within 3 months of stopping bfeeding. good luck, its strange isnt wanting it to come

Hi Sani,

Everyone is slightly different on this side of things.  I breastfed DD1 until 9mths old, 4wks later I had a very light bleed & about 3-4wks after that I had my first proper period.

Some women will bleed whilst BFing & some can fall pregnant whilst BFing (it's possible from 3wks after birth).  44 days is still fairly early on, give it another couple of weeks & if nothing happens then consult your GP/HV for advice.

my lo is 9 months and just dropped to morning and night feeds - with only the odd day feed. just had my first period since having him. for years my periods have been very painful and not a single twinge - so i guess its true that having a baby often sorts things out! x
