Too young to drool?

My LO is 10 weeks, and has been drooling a bit lately. He is just learning to hold - not grabbing yet, but will hold it if you put it in his hands or if it comes near enough without looking at it, so I cannot give him something. But he does put his fists in his mouth - just started a couple of days ago. Is this normal at his age? He is too young for teething.

On another subject, he woke up with a sticky eye today. This is a troublesome eye, as it took longer to open after birth, then was red one time. The doctor was not in and prescribed some drops over the phone. I just cleaned out the goo with my breastmilk, hopefully it will heal soon.

Hiya
Just to say my baby started doing the same thing last week at 8 weeks. Gnawing on his fist constantly. I've tried giving him his dummy but it's not hard enough and his gums are all bumpy so it could be the start of teething, or perhaps just movements in his gums. It's hard when they can't hold anything to chew on so I just let him have his fist for now. He is dribbling like mad and I am constantly mopping up!
Another baby in my NCT class got his first tooth at 2 weeks so I guess it's never too early!
xx
