Hi ladies,

When Eva was born, we were given a voucher for a photoshoot which we have booked for next week. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for us from when you may have had a photoshoot done? It's a 30 page album we are getting done, of Eva, Mummy and Daddy.

Thanks ladies xxx

Hiya!

I would say try to have your lo fed and asleep in the car, as then you may get a few sleepy shots, which are so cute and also your dd will be much happier for the rest of the photoshoot. Take your time, if baby wants a feed then feed her, a good photographer won't mind how long it takes, they know they have to be patient with little ones.
Bring her favourite toy to keep her amused and a few changes of clothes, just in case. Try to dress her in plain clothes (and you and hubby too) as loads of patterns or labels can distract from the faces on photos so plain makes nicer shots. Try not to all wear the same thing though, it's a bit cheesy!
If you have something really meaningful, like a blanket knitted by a family member or one your lo loves, make sure to take it. Hubby's gran had knitted a blanket for him as a baby and it is on his newborn photos, so we had our dd photographed on it.
Enjoy your photoshoot! xxx

We've recently had a photoshoot done with our LO. The studio we used was about an hur from where we live so got LO fed and then dressed before bundling him into the car. He slept most of the way and then we offered him a top up when we got there - he actually drained 5ozs! He was great through the shoot - they normally want the babies asleep but as LO was so content they did the shoot with him awake. We got some gorgeous pics so my tip would be make sure they're full and take another bottle/be prepared to give bubs a feed while you're there. Also speak to the studio/your photographer - they'll usually give you lots of helpful advice - mine did! They were great and very experienced with and understanding of tiny babies and new parents!

get a pedicure - or have nice nail-polish on your toes! Most photographers will have you and your oh in your bare feet for your photos as they photograph better than socks (or shoes).

And hand nails as well, if your lo is small enough they may take photos of your lo resting on your or oh's arm with her little head in your hand. So cute!

Hey, i'm a photographer in my spare time and from that perpective I would make sure you all co-ordinate without being totally matching if that makes sense!

I'd avoid any really eye catching patterns for you or baby as the camera distorts it and takes the focus of your face and face of baby.

I like to keep it nice and simple so photos don't date. Not a fan of props but that's just a metter of taste xxxx
