Hi girls

I am not sure what I am doing wrong all of a sudden but over the past few days the bottle teats keep blocking up. We use Dr Brown bottles and currently on size 2 teats so I got some size 3 and then tonight that even blocked. The milk comes out fine to start with then randomly blocks sometimes half way through sometimes before then. I have been sucking on the teat to clear it (not good!) and sometimes that works but sometimes they still block up.

I mix the formula at room temp but have always done this - we use aptimal 1 but again have always used this since I stopped expressing at 3 months (LO now 5 1/2 months).

Emily is getting really frustrated and I am too as shes not a big milk drinker at the best of times so this makes feeding even more stressful!!

any ideas please as to what I can try or what has suddenly caused this?!! xx

I use Aptimal hungry baby and sze three Advent teats. When I wash them before sterilising, I fill them with hot water and push my little finger into the inside of the teat to check the water jets out the three holes. Not sure why yours would be blocking other than maybe the milk had a few little un-mixed lumps in it. I mix mine after the 30 minutes (when kettles boiled) then let them cool.

My only other thought is faulty teats? But if its happened on size 2 and 3 that would seem an odd coincidence.

I used TT teats with aptamil at all sizes and only had blockages if the milk wasn't completely mixed! I can't think of any other reason why?
