Hi.

My Lo is 6 months old on Monday.
He has always been really active in his sleep and we needed to move him from his crib to cot in his own room at 13 weeks because of this.
For the last month he's been spinning himself so he is upside down, rolling over, going onto all fours, sticking his legs through the bars, pressing his face against the bars, sleeping width ways across and LOADS of other things - he does this all in his sleep, but obviously gets himself into so uncomfortable positions that he wakes. We are forever turning him around. Its got so bad this week he is waking himself up constantly!!

Is this normal?
Any advice?

Thanks xx

hi, my lo is exactly the same, same age and getting up2 the same antics in his sleep. I lie there awake nearly all night listening 2 him on the monitor as he's so vocal during the night c well. Don't know what 2 do, switch monitor off at then i wouldn't sleep without that piece of mind as it's the angel care one with a sensor mat. Sorry can't offer any advice, just wanted 2 say yr not alone. X

Hi, just popped across from toddler for a nose!!

Perfectly normal honey - not all do but my son has always been like this!! He actually slept on his front from 4 months cause as soon as he could roll he'd roll on his belly and sleep like that
I've also had legs and arms stuck through bars, lumps on head from hitting the head board, and he regularly sleeps with his head at the foot of the bed, or sideways!!!

You could try a sleep positioner but we never bought one, or a cheaper version is rolled up towels either side of him to stop him moving, we did try this but lo seemed to hate it and it woke him up more as if he wanted to move about!!

He is now 29months and in a bed but we have to ahve bed guard otherwise he's constantly fall out!! lol!

I can hear him in the evenings constantly moving about and he'll sometimes crack his head on the wall with a massive bang but it rarely wakes him up now!! He just moves around in his sleep.

according to hubby so do I !!!!!

It will get better but I did find my lo slept a lot better once he's gone from cot to bed (without the bars) but this is obviously a long way off for you yet.

Your say
