Nappies for night

Kara has recently been diagnosed with Diabetes as some of you may know. As a result of this she tends to pee more and this is mostly during the night. She is not drinking any more than usual. For this past week she has been waking up in the morning and is soaking right through her pyjama's and her bed. It doesn't seem to annoy her as she doesn't waken up. I feel so guilty then her lying like that as I don't know how long she has been like that. She wears Pampers Baby Dry usually but after reading some posts on here and on recommendation from a friend I tried the active fit nappies. This made no difference at all and to be honest I didn't find them up to much good. Does anyone have any recommendations of nappies of any kind that I could even try at night time to see if it makes any difference to Kara in the morning. I just hate the thought of her soaking in bed. She gets changed every night just before bed and even last night she woke at 12 so we changed her anyway even though she was only slightly wet and she was still soaking this morning. I have mentioned this today to the diabetes nurse and they said it is probably because her blood sugars seem a bit high at night before bed time. So I was thinking that maybe a different nappy might help.

Thanks in advance.

hi, i have found the best nappies to be huggies superdry, they say 12hrs of dryness on the packet, i think we've used every nappy there is and they have always come out best. xxx

Am using pampers baby dry at the moment as had coupons for them. But I did use Huggies super dry when my lo was a heavy wetter (since he's been weaned he doesnt wee as much despite drinking same amount of milk!) and I found them great. Boots super dry nappies are good too, they're what I normally buy. I didnt find pampers active fit to be much good either they seemed really unhiegienic cos they stuck to Gabe's bum poor thing!xx

I have found that Huggies Super Dry are the best for night time. They don't smell funny or go damp like Pampers Baby Dry. Tescos own brand version of Baby Dry are good too and good value for money.

Tescos baby dry i found are the best. I used pampers when grace was younger but she was damp most mornings ans since ive changed to tesco's she's been fine. There really good value aswel grace is in size 4 ( maxi) and you get 56 nappies for ??5.96.

huggies superdry are great. I always use em at night and hav never had a leaky nappy. Used to use pampers but lo always smelt of pee, and sumtimes wen I held her my hand felt damp. She was changed regularly.

I put my lo in Huggies Superdrry, a couple of sizes bigger then he needs as he tends to wee for England at night and never had a leak xx

I found that using a larger size at night stopped the soaking through. I use the nappies from Lidls. They are the best fitting, softest & keep their shape better than all others I tried.

We use huggies superdry but in a bigger size at night - we've had some mega full nappies but never a leak.

we use asda's normally and not had a problem with them really but she was in the baby dry version and we did find with them that switching to the active fit version helped but you already tried that. we currently using huggies super dry as was on good offer and we had no probs with these.

i would suggest changing brands and maybe size too? just watch the weights etc on different brands as i didn't realise they vary so much!

Hope you get it sorted as can't be nice for her even tho she not complaining.

Thanks all for your replies. I went out today and bought a small pack of Huggies Super Dry as they were on offer for ??2.49. I will try them for a few nights to see if I notice a difference as there is a very odd night when she is not as wet. If they are good I think I will change to them permanently as there is also a few days when I am out I find her wet and smelling of pee even though she has been changed regularly.

Thanks again. Fingers crossed this works. If not I think it will just be trial and error.

I found that when Lily was in pampers (baby dry and active the newborn ones she had when she was tiny were ok) she always smelled of wee even if she had just been changed. I think its the nappies to be honest so this may be why she is smelling. I use ASDA little angels action fit now and they are great. They seem to soak up loads, also on another note they keep the poo in too- Lily has had a bad poo last week or so because she is teething and they have been great- no leaks!
Hope you get on better with your new nappies!!
