Oscar's worked out how to open the tumble dryer and loves pulling the washing out. Is there any sort of lock I can put on it so I can stop him? I tried googling but it didn't come up with anything.

Thanks ladies x

sorry honey, no idea, Shea can open the washing machine and now the cupboards WITH CHILD LOCKS ON!!!!

so i'm at a total loss now he can open the child locks on the cupboards - mind you he only ever goes for the biscuit cupboard!!!

with washing machine (don't have a dryer) I ask him to help me now to save any tantrums but with teh tumble dryer i'd probably just make sure its turned off at plug in case he gets inside accidentley!!

Oooh this is the fun stuff. Harry's been obsessed with the washing machine since he could sit up lol. Luckily our dryer is in the garage.

I just make sure i know if he's around it and say "no/.. Harry help mummy when its done" and move him away. But i always let him help when its finished. xxx

I would suggest these:

we have them on our bin lid and a couple of other things like that to stop max getting in!

Life's too short to spend time with people you don't care about!

Thanks for that cc!

I do try telling him no and then getting him to help me unload but at 9 months he's more about causing trouble than being nice to mummy lol

Claire, your little man sounds like such a lovely boy. Hope Oscar turns out like him x

thanks, he is a lovely little boy -but i am biased!!

but I am very pleased with the way he's coming on, my mother was always a stickler for manners and p's and q's and she called them and its something i've always tried to instil in Shea and it looks like its paying off, plus he's been in nursery since 6 months and I think this has helped him develop well. He's very polite and shares with others no problem. He is also a very affectionate little boy and will ask for kisses and hugs, he walked into nursery this morning and walked up to all the helpers and asked them each for a kiss!!!
he's probably got this from his mummy as I probably cuddle and kiss him a bit too much!!!! lol

I saw this type of thing in Ikea this weekend much cheaper! They have the multi purpose locks (my mum bought some to stop the dog getting in the freezer!) and the cupboard/drawers ones and window ones too!

http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Safety/Home-Safety/Clippasafe-Multi-Purpose-Lock(0016653) we have these on ours. ciara is only 12 weeks but just before she was born my hubby went on a mission to 'baby proof' the house.

I am not worried about Emilia climbing in the washer or dryer, and yes, she loves to help. At 18 months all she wants to do is copy mummy or daddy, and shutting the machine doors after loading is one of those things she wants to help with, when the machine is running she cannot open it, but, when it is not in use she can open the door, so, when she goes to close it, invariably her little fingers are around the edge and in danger of getting trapped. I cannot find anything to stop the doors from opening. ANYONE PLEASE HELP, before Emilia reall hurts herself.
