i do 3x5oz & 1x 8oz(she's 8 months yesterday)

My little boy is 7 months next week. He has 1 BF, 2 x 7oz bottles plus 3 meals. I don't think he gets much from the BF, but then its difficult to tell. Do you think I need to give him another bottle?

this is prob a stupid question but how do you know when to cut down on bottles? my lo has 5 7oz a day also mushed banana with warm milk in the morning & a ice cube of mush & a petit flaous about 4-30

cloclo: when your l/o is eating more she'll prob. start wanting less milk
(will most likely let you know herself!) how old is l/o?
angielisa: mine is the same (how old is yours?) have to fight to get him to drink his milk!! generally has 6oz at morning and night, and 4oz mid morning and mid afternoon x.
p.s he's nearly 8 month

my daughter is 10 and a half months and she too has cut right down on her milk as she eats 3 meals a day plus snacks. I got quite worried as she was only taking 2 8oz bottles one in morning and one in evening and juice during the day.

My hv actually said to me that when babies are weaned and eating more they do cut down on milk and as long as they have a pint a day, but she did also say that it doesnt just have to come from bottles if your lo has a yogurt that can count towards it and for instance i give my lo weetabix in mornings mixed with milk and that counts to it too.

It just goes to show that you should follow your baby's lead as my hv told me that 24oz is the minimum when weaning!! But you've been told 20oz! I have had loads of inconsistency with the hv's at my baby clinic and i just go with what my baby wants now. You're the mummy and you have that special thing called instinct! xx
