My funding for childcrae has fallen thru and i dont know what to do. does anyone know if i can get any help?

I'm due to start college on monday and they are due to go into childcare 1 and a half days a week totalling at ??116 a week!

Can anyone giv me some advice? I have been on the inland revenue site but got no help and i am waiting for C.A.B to ring back but they are taking forever. I am so stressed out! xxx

what funding did you have?

Can the tax credits system do anything for you? I know some people get something from barnados.....

1 and a half days is costing ??116!!!!!! Ollie goes in for one day and it costs ??27 a week.... Is there anywhere else your lo could go?

I have two LO's so i have to pay double!

It was from a new deal for the Job centre and when i applied they said i would defo get it, then found out today i dont get it. they could have told me sooner!!

I looked on the tax credits website but no avail. i might try ringing them.

The creche are expecting me to pay 116 on monday and i dont have it!! xxx

crikey Heather! that does sound a lot!

can you get onto

a)the uni you are going to for their creche facilities

b) the council for a list of childminders

i think you still have the childcare (just the funding problem?), but if you could get somewhere cheaper, until you can get the proper help financially?

unfortunately i dont know enough about this, but hopefully someone can help. good luck

Martin Lewis was on GMTV the other day saying theres money for child care help for loads who don't know about it etc.

Hope everything works out for you

stupid bloody jobcentre!
I know it doesnt help in the immediate future, but appeal their decision.

you need to ring tax credits, and ask them personally if you can get anything, plus any other benefits (not sure if youre classed as employed or not being at college) - a job alongside?
A crisis loan?

Could you borrow the money off anyone for a week or two?

is there anyone else who can have them instead? Are you tied into a contract with them (like mine, its bloody stupid)

I think i am tied. they start on monday. am gonna go down today and see what they say.

Also, rang child tax credits, they cant help cos i have to be working and i'm not. He said i can get help from the education people but it would mean putting them into the college creche. i hope that the one they due to start let me change it.

I am so stressed and i'm not well (tonsliltus) so could really do with out this. nothing is ever plain sailing in my life, it does my head in!!! xx

thats bollox about CTC, see this : http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/pdfs/wtc1.pdf

this clearly states "You do not have to be working to claim"
so get back on the phone to them and quote their own leaflet at them, the ignorant pigs.

If they are tied, explain about the financial problem that has just arisen and see what they say, and give the notice they need if you want to put them into the college creche...

Thanks for the link but that leaflet says we both have to be working unless one of us in incacipated...

"You can only get the childcare element if you are working at least 16 hours a week. If you are part of a couple, both you and your partner must each work at least 16 hours, unless one of you is unable to work because of incapacity."

thats the childcare element of Working tax credit - it also states that if youre not working you should still get over 4k in Child tax credit.... if youre not already getting this....

can you get any help from sure start?

Sorry

Oh right, i get child tax credit to but added it all up with everything else and our outgoings, we still cant do it.

Citezans advice just rang and said i should go and see someone from surestart and that i can get a student voucher or something from the college. I'm gonna go to the college shortly and then to the creche to see what i need to do!

I am so angry they have just informed me today!! Stupid government!!
04/09/2008 at 06:18
dont you just love it how the government wants to help people help themselves?!!!

despite the fact they have acknowledged (albeit too bloody late!!) that the NHS is understaffed, when someone wants to train to be a nurse or a midwife, they have to jump thru hoops to do it?!!! (i know it isnt just NHS, its anything where you have to train first)

Heather, i hope you can get it sorted one way or another, and feel better soon!

you really will love it when you start!! :\)

well, i went to the college and i can put them in there and i can get a learning fund to ccover the costs of childcare cos our net income is less that ??20.891 a year! so i am happy about that.

Now i just need to find ??40 for the admin fee by the end of 2moro!

I have lost the admin fee at the other nursey to so i am gutted bout that!

Just hope i can find the fee so i can get them in for when i need them there!! xx

wooo!!!

So glad you got it sorted, and really hope you can find the ??40 you need.
