Food!

My daughter is 11 months old. We weaned the traditional way at 4 1/2 months on the advice of our GP as Phoebe was losing weight (she had colic due to lactose sensitivity and we struggled to get her to take her milk feeds.) Anyway, she has been quite a good eater and has enjoyed a wide variety of pureed then mushy foods. We introduced finger foods at 6 months which she loved too. However, she has recently had a very nasty tummy bug and was very sick. Since then, she is refusing to be spoon fed. She will eat toast and sandwiches, but she wont take food from a spoon unless it is fruit puree and yoghurt. So, does anyone have any advice as to what meals I can make her that do not rely on a spoon? I tried new potatoes and sausage last night but she refused. However, she ate some toast a little later. I think 'proper' food might be the way to go but I am unsure of what to make. Hubby and I tend to eat things like pasta in sauce and fajitas but I think these things would be too spicy for her. Help!!

DD eats exactly what we do, if we are having something spicy i will  take a portion out before adding spice, we usually have the breaded fajitas for mexican which she is fine with, anything can be eaten with fingers, some things are messier than others!

this week we have had,

spagetti bolagnaise (imagine umpalumpa face and hands)

sausages cut into strips and deskinned after cooking with sweet potato fingers, carrot and courgette fingers and peas (suprisingly good at peas!)

macaroni cheese,

garlic chicken, cous cous and veg (this was very messy!)

stew and dumplings

i make a list of what we are eating for the week which makes it eaiser for me x
