Development Check !?

I have an appointment on Monday for my 9 month old son for a development check. Does anyone know what this is and what happens ?

when my daughter had hers they measured her, weighed her, checked her hearing and seen what toys she managed to pick up and asked question ie are they crawling ect but unlucky me she was walking at 8 months by her self
