Hi ladies

Sorry to gatecrash but thought you might be able to help! My little (he's 26!) brother will be getting married to his lovely fiance in South Africa at the end of the month. As much as I would love to go I gave birth to a little boy just 3 weeks ago so I had to make the hard decision about whether to go and my hubbie and I decided that it probably wouldn't be a good idea especially as we didn't know how settled little one would be by then. I'm devastated that we can't go but know it was the most sensible thing to do but I really want to get them something special as a wedding present from us and bubs but have no idea what?! It has to be something relatively light and small as they will need to take it on the plane with them - any ideas?

what about one of those name a star things? or a ovucher for a night away somewhere nice with dinner/spa. Maybe even a dinner for you all when he is back, meaning you can celebrate with them xx

How about making a little photo album, either cutting and sticking or the photobooks from boots. Put together some memories, perhaps of your bro as a little boy and the first time he introduced his fiance, funny or touching moments. Then at the end you could give them a voucher for something they'd enjoy, a weekend away, cookery lessons or a show, tell them to carry on the good times and wonderful memories.

I did something similar for hubs and my anniversary.

I would do a little film with your little family wishing them all the best to play on their wedding day copy it to a DVD so they can see you on their wedding day.

What about (assuming you're Welsh from your screen name!) a personalised welsh love spoon?

It could be one with a bell, or whatever else symbolises marriage (and balls as I think they represent children! )

I got given one as a wedding present and LOVED it. I even got my niece one as a Christening present.

I second the dvd idea! I got married abroad with my family and in the evening they suprsed me with a dvd of all my friends wishing us the best, it was amazing and I cried my eyes out!

Photo album of you and your family from the yonder years, right up til he met his fiance, and the arrival of his new nephew.
Leave space for their wedding, honeymoon and arrival of their LOs maybe?
Getting them a sort of Red Letter experience too?
And or if your feeling generous, a DVD to say congratulations and how much you would love to be there for them? All relatively light to carry and very thoughtful xx
