c-section scar - infection??? help

my babe is a week & 1 day old and my scar has been oozing a little greeny/yellow pus and stinks, what should i do?? im waiting until tomo to go and see a doc, but has anyone else had this? my belly overlaps my scar a little so its not always getting air to it which i know prob doesnt help but what can i do about that!? i dry it everytime i go and pee and use a maternity pad to dab it... help!!! :cry: :roll:

Mine did the same thing. As long as you're sure that the wound isn't splitting I wouldn't worry but just wait til tomorrow and mention it to your doctor or midwife. Depending on how bad it is, they may give you something to put on it, or may say to just leave it alone.

it sounds like an infection to me but the good thing is you are doing somehting about it. Have you been feeling feverish? Got a temp? If it is infected then once you have the right treament it heals pretty quickly. Just try not to do too much, lots of resting and cuddling your new bundle x

my scar wept a little at 2 weeks after the op - i think i knoked off some of the scab whilst drying myself. it was always clear or slightly yellow coloured as it was basically trying to reform the scab. mw checked and as it didn't smell she said it was fine.

I'd suggest you try to air it as much as poss...I wondered round the house with no pants on for a few hours a day.

I'm now 3.5 weeks post op and compltely healed, scab has all come off naturally etc.
