Hi,

Anyone out there who has had a C-Section, can you advise how long it takes til your scar heals. Mine is doing well, 4 and a half months on but still quite noticible as still raised and pink, do they fade or do I just have to live with the fact I will have this 'medal of honour' for the rest of my life?

I had my section 8 weeks ago and my scar is harldy noticable but I am a very quick healer (the mw couldn't believe how good it looked before she discharged me) I think it depends on how well it was stitched together a to how bad the scar is. I think in time it will fade hun, I don't think its anything to worry about.

hi, im 7 1/2 months on and mine is still quite pink and raised. (although you can hardly see it through my jungle as i havent been waxed since) i think you can get waxed at 6month after but i havent braved it yet as sometimes i still get a pang of soreness. happy healing!!

Hi
I'm 6 months on and still pink and raised, also sometimes sore.
My mum had a hysterectomy which is the same sort of scar and hers is hardly there now so i think they will fade.

My lo is 5 and a half months and my scar is still raised and pink. Im glad you started this topic sandyt coz my scar still gets a bit sore sometimes and I thought I was the only one but some of your other replies seem to be the same which is reasuring. Were you told if you'll need a section if you have any more babies?

Hi I have had 3 sections so mine is quite noticable.

The first section I had was cut larger than normal as baby was stuck and had to get her out asap and it took about 12 months to really lose the pinkness. My second one faded at about 6 months. My lo is now 14 weeks and my scar is still pink, raised and visible but as I've had 3 I really dont expect it to fade that much. You cant see it with knickers, clothes on so it doesnt really bother me too much.

Hi guys, thanks for all your replies - just have to wait and see - it doesn't bother me too much just curious whether they do fade. My scar is a bit itchy sometimes so think that means it is still healing.

Good point fea - the scar gave life to my beautiful boy.

Holly - I too have not braved a wax but maybe too earlier yet.

Smithya85 - I get a bit of an ache sometimes in scar but otherwise all ok. I am not sure yet if more children would mean I would have to have more c-sections. This one was an emergency one.

Thanks again for all your positive thoughts

<span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black;">My c-section scar was raised and stayed for a long time. It made me self conscious.. I tried a bunch of cheap creams, like the stuff you get at CVS, but it didn’t really work. .<span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"> I used this cream inviCible scars for around 3 weeks and have seen a difference in the texture as it has lightened that portion to a great extent.it might gonna take no more than a week to get invisible I assume. After doing tremendous researches , I finally looked forward in buying this product.. I may use it further more to complete the course because I’m really very much satisfied by it as it has really shown drastic effects in such sort span of time. Consult the website if you want any more details

I had a section in April 2007 and it has pretty much vanished now I can't remember exactly how long it took but I think it was still a silverly line when I was expecting DD2 in 2010 but when I got pg this time I realised I can't actually work out where my scar is and what's just creases in my skin. Really hoping I have another VBAC so it stays like this!
