I was on the web chat earlier and was taking note of all the things Steve said, as my little boy is 6 months old and has eczema patches in various places all over his body. I had been using E45 junior and was going to increase the use as per the advice. But my GP just said some babies are too snesitive to it as it contains lanolin which many are allergic to. So to stop using that and she has given me the latest emollients EPADERM and DERMOL and of course Hydrocortisone (but 1% now as opposed to a lesser strength). She had been to a conference and these were recommended. Just thought I wouold share this with anyone else in this situation. Also she said to stop using fabric conditioner which was news to me (fairy non bio washing powder is fine).

Sreve came up with some great advice but I guess he is from E45 so had to suggest using it as advertsing!

I'm amazed that what I eat can effect my lo's skin, am going to keep an eye on what I eat and her cheeks now.

I have eczema too and cannot use E45, I just use aqeous cream to moisturise several times a day and to wash in and even this can set me off sometimes.
I have never been able to use any fabric conditioner and bubble bath is also a big no no for me. Even Nathans baby soaps and bubbles set me off.
I use steroid creams too and my Dr also increased the strength recently as they now think its better to use a strong cream for a short time than a weaker cream for longer.
I have never been able to pin down which foods might effect me, it seems to be more to do with perfumes etc, although rain water also sets me off!!
