Average age for crawling? - Baby

I know every baby is different but does anyone know the average age for a baby to start crawling? I really want jayden to start crawling and its taking AGES!!!

Hi sammy i think the average age is 9months my health visitor said Lexie has been trying to crawl for ages but not there yet when naked she can pull herself with her arms very slowly though

Jayden will get on his knees but doesnt do anything with hands its frustrating for both of us!!

yeah Lexie kind of rocks then goes back down and kicks her legs and gets very frustrated poor thing lets hope they move soon

i think alfie would be so much happier once he's crawling, he impersonates a slug when he's not realising im not holding him and wants a toy !! fingers x its soon, then will be moaning he's tearing the house apart !!!

Hiya my lo Nicholas is 10 and half months and still doesn't crawl. It is better for me though because he's a severe haemophiliac so the least knocks and bumps he can have the better. His older brother didnt walk til he was 16 months so i think they may just be slow starters. Theyre all different x

it varys soooo much. my first never crawled properly just a sort of army crawl but my second crawled properly - and very fast!! from 6 months.

you'll wish he'd never started once he does! hahaha. evie was quick and has been crawling for over a month now and is 7months. u bloody wish she'd slow down so i could have 5mins sitting down lol x

brooke started crawling at about 9 months sammy&jayden brooke was doing exactly the same then a few weeks later she was off!! my friends lo was crawling at 6 months! they are all different! make the most of it! u need eyes everywhere when they start!!! xxx

Freya started to pull herself along with her arms at around 7 months. Freya has been crawling a good 4 weeks or so. She is 8.5 months. She is now trying to pull herself onto her feet. She is nightmare crawling. She is into everything and anything. Can't wait till she learns the words no and leave LoL. I have a friend whos child never crawled. Around his first birthday he just got up and walked. Another friend who child is 4 weeks younger then Freya has been crawling since she was 6months. They are all different.

Maddie has been crawling for just over a week and is 11 months tomorrow, I would say it is slightly better but she has now just swapped the frustration over to walking lol

My first lo was 7 months b4 she crawled and then 13 months when she started to walk. My second lo was just over 5 months!! And then was walking at 10 months! She was'nt a baby for long at all

I've just had my 3rd and in a way I hope shes a little slower at reaching the milestones as they grow up way too fast!!!

does comando crawling count? if so harri started last week at 6 month and 1 week old. cant believe how quick he is like a rat up a drain pipe! lolxxx

fin started to crawl at about 5 months and by 10 months he was walking make the most of him sitting still hun as when they can move they can destroy everything lol

Ellie is 9 .5 months and not much happening there either. She wriggles lots with her legs and goes up onto her elbows but not much else. Doctor said that she may not crawl but go straight to walking as her legs r very strong. Not too worried.

shannon started to shuffle/crawl at just before 6 months so was quite early, she is nearly 7 1/2 now and a pro. can beat me to the other side of the room! lol. she is trying to walk now which is great in a way but sad too cos its like she is growing up so quick....

Charlotte nearly 6 months but not showing any signs of crawling yet. Still grumbles after being on her tummy for a bit!
My sister's 1st lo was crawling very early at 6 months, yet her 2nd lo started at about 8-9 months.

Ellie will be 9 months on 19th and she's not crawling YET! What she is doing is rolling over and over and also she turns her self using her arms when on her belly about 180degrees. She can get onto her knees and arms but not at the same time and she seems to push herself back a bit when she does go onto her arms. She has no interest to have weight on her legs so I don't think she'll be walking for a very long time. She crys when we try to put her onto her feet and then lifts her legs right off the ground!!! She's getting frustrated and really wants to crawl so hopefully it will be soon.x
