Hi, i haven't been on for a while as my hubby was made redundant and we had to move house and get settled again! Hope your all ok and babies too.

I want to get a light pushchair in the next few months for my now 7 month old daughter. At the moment i have a lola pushchair with everything-the carseat that clips onto the frame and then also the seat untit that can be parent facing or normal.....i love it and had it when my 2 year old was a baby but Emma (my 2 year old) starts pre-school in january and i would like a pushchair that is a little lighter and easy to push for my youngest as it is about a 20 min walk to the pre-school. The lola is great but can be difficult to push when i have to hold emma's hand. Anyone thinking of getting a lola don't be put off because they are fantastic in my opinion!
Anyway i am stuck between two pushchairs, the PETITE STAR ZIA or the MCLAREN QUEST or TRIUMPH. I love the look of the zia and love the way it folds down ect but i have heard some bad reviews about it saying that it tips up easily, the rain cover doesn't fit properly and it isn't strong enough for toddlers ( obviously i want Sophie to still be in it when she is a toddler) and i have only ever heard good things about the mclaren.
Anyone who has either of these pushchairs or knows of someone who has one could you give me some advice please, are the reviews about the zia really that common. Does anyone use a mclaren for their toddlers-is it still easy to push ect?
I really can't afford to get the wrong one so any help would be great
Thanks xxx

Hi, this may just confuse the issue, as it is an entirely different pushchair, but we just got an OBaby Atlas for travel. The reason I mention it is I took it to London last weekend on my own (well, with Peter) and was easily able to push it, with baby in, one-handed while pulling a small wheelie suitcase with the other hand. I negotiated two train stations and some rather busy London roads this way, no problem at all. It is a lovely, manouverable pushchair. The only disadvantage I have found so far is that the handles are a bit high for me (I'm 5'3") so my arms did start to ache after a bit. And the basket is inaccessible when it is in flat position which is a very, very small niggle. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

I love the Zia!! I use it when I have to get the bus and go out for the day! My Lo is very talll and 21lb and there is plenty of room for her still!

I have only once had it tip over and that was with no baby but lots of shopping!! My one issue is the raincover and how it fits at the front-the way to fix it is a velcro or normal strap that can be fixed under the foot rest!! no problem at all!! xxx

I have a Quest, bought it when my lo was 18 months and I LOVE it!!
I'd had a second hand Triumph which needed replacing but I wasn't too keen on it anyway, I don't like the way the seat reclines and sits up, I found it very awkward and the seat is more padded on the Quest and you have the extendable legrest on the Quest too.
Before I got the Quest I was deciding between that and the Zia, went so far as to order the Zia but when it arrived I didn't like it, my son didn't seem comfortable in it and I didn't like the backrest, it felt very unsupportive, like cardboard and I wasn't sure how much weight it would take leaning against it!!
Anyway, my son is now 3yrs and 3months and when I do use the buggy it's still really easy to push and is still in fab condition, I've had no problems with it whatsoever. x x
