What apps are must-haves

I am a newbie with smartphones, you see.

I started to download apps on my phone, but so far I have only used websites I like anyway. But surely people use their mobile phones slightly differently from their computers. We have the price scanner and QR code readers apps so far. What apps do you like and recommend to a busy mom of a toddler?

Any suggestions are appreciated, as I would like to discover new things with my new phone.

I would love to know some of these too.  I know some friends swore by 'white noise' apps when their babies were newborn, but now Z is 6 months she just hurrrumphed at me when I tried this!!

MomMaps looks good; it lists playgrounds, parks, museums etc that you can take your little one to. Phone4Kids is one of those kid's apps which has a different interface so your child thinks they are playing on a phone when actually they are on a toy app; might be useful for long drives etc!

Oh and if you're a blogger then the Blogger or Wordpress apps are obviously very handy! As are the Facebook and Twitter apps for keeping up with social media.

YoungMum Thanks ever so much. I'll start with MomMaps.

Oooh, mommaps sounds good, is it not american though with that title? I love facebook, and the android app is useful, but annoys me as it doesn't let you do things such as sharing statuses etc, and doesn't always let you enter the competitions on there, and i'm a competition fiend!

I've set up my blog using Blogger, so have downloaded the app. I also have Onavo, which monitors your data usage, and tells you if your apps are 'data hoggers', which Blogger is. This isn't too bad at the moment as we have all you can eat data, but if you only want to top up £10 a month, there is a data limit.

The big question is...where's the Baby Expert App??

Whilst my little treasure fell asleep on me today I typed 'baby' into the search function of 'Play store' and found loads of apps.  I have to admit that I havent worked out how to delete installed apps yet, so I only downlaoded 1 app - but it looks great fun.  'BabyCard -Animals'  basically it is a series of flashcards complete with the animal sounds.  Of course at the time all I wanted to do was hear the sounds....but  had to wait for Z to wake up before playing.  This app will be a good  whilst we are out game to play and help Z learn animals.

womblenz The easiest way todelete apps is to type their name into Play Store, which then brings them up as Installed. If you click on it, it gives you the option to uninstall.
