Each of our mums has been using a Three Mobile smart phone and a selection of apps to help solve a particular baby or toddler problem. Join them here to read how they got on.

I have only just started to use my shiny new phone. It is just wonderful.

At first my husband and I were slightly intimidated by it, but our 4-year-old offered to show us how it works  Thankfully there is a wealth on information on the Three website, Samsung website and youtube. Also I am so impatient and the phone is so intuitive that I just worked it out myself.

My little phone is properly loved up. I have bought a nice cover and insurance for it.

It's great isn't it hun..my sister helped me as she got a Samsung herself...can't wait to see the photos in the mag

I've also bought a lovely cover to stop it getting scratched. Went to my Three store yesterday for a bit of an overview, and got a couple of handy tips, but it is fairly straightforward to work out really. Is this where we're blogging then, thought we were getting a proper blog site set up??

catwomanga Oh, wow! It is brilliant.

Thanks for suggesting my fitness pal.

My fitness pal is ace - I've lost 10lb over the last few weeks using it - i'm now under 12 stone for the first time since i got married 3 years ago, and determined to be bikini ready for my first holiday with my baby in June!

It is a whole new world!!  And absolutely brilliant to catch up on those emails onehanded when Z is feeding - my friends in NZ now now I am still alive, as I can answer emails whilst feeding

Hi all, it was lovely meeting most of you at the photo shoot - it's a shame we didn't get more time for a proper natter, but fun all the same! I'm Steph, i was there with my two boys O who is 3 and F who's 20 months.

Really enjoying using the new phone, i have to say my favourite app i've found so far is Instagram, makes even the worst photo look fab Although the camera ont he Samsung is great isn't it?! Better than my actual camera! Also a My Fitness Pal fan, i've lost 4 stone since having my youngest and i'm maintaining using MFP, calorie counting is great

I'm looking at setting up a proper blog for my 'official' posts, so will link to that once i'm set up!

It was lovely to meet you all. My name is Irma, and I was with the lively 4-year old James. He probably spoke to all of you.

Are we supposed to set up our onw blogs? I thought thye would be on the Babyexpert website. You ladies are terribly savvy.

I have signed up to my fitness pal. It is amazing. I can't believe it even reads the barcodes of what you have just been eating. I mainly concentrated on exercise so far (and of course sensible eating), and I lost over a stone in the past 3 months. Am a bit worried I'll get addicted to calorie-counting.

It is enough to be addicted to my new phone

Hi ladies; lovely to see we are all getting on so well with our phones! Here is my latest experience of the new app Baby Esp...

Hi ladies, some of whom I met at the photoshoot.  I was the one with the three girls who couldn't find my way there and had to call Claire a few times - had I had the phone before the shoot I would have been fine!!.  What a great phone, I need three (more phones that is!) as the girls all want to use it then argue who gets to sit in the middle to watch a video of their favourite programme on it!  The camera is AMAZING!!!  The apps loaded to it for us are great - the girls love Tom Cat, matching pairs and the kids doodle especially when they get to draw all over the photo's of themselves from the gallery.  I, on the other hand, love the Tesco app!  Instead of having to do the shopping once everyone is in bed I can do it on the train while I travel to work leaving me free to have more time to myself once the little ones are in bed!  More info to follow about this great phone as it happens - watch this space!

TheYoungmumChronicles That Baby ESP sounds amazing. I could have done with it when my son was little, and the HW was complaining that he is not putting enough weight on...

Jellybelly You are brave. I did not hand my phone over to my son, as I would never ever regain control over it.

I am currently amazed by the map functions. We will soon go on a lovely trip with some older members of the family and I think we will impress them with the apps on this phone. I am sure we can find something that helps us find interesting things to do. In torrential rain. In a farmhouse. We will also use it as a satnav. I mean my husband is my fantastic satnav, but my phone will help him.

I added the term times and all the birthdays and anniversaries into the calendar. No more forgotten cards, presents, etc. We will also have to reorganise our whole life around primary school term time. It always seems to be half term, teacher training, election or bad weather, so we need to be prepared. As a result I could present my boss and my husband with a professional calculation on my next year's work hours and childcare need. They were slightly freaked out.

My phone keeps recommending to synch with Google calendar. Is it really necessary you think? What is the benefit?

Hi aliasgirl...pleased to hear there is someone else like me that is in a 'love/confused' state with this phone.  It is fantastic what it can do and is almost like a spare brain...but somethings are just too gobbledegook for a babybrained mother to comprehend!!!  I cant answer your question re synch with google calendar, my problem has been an entire morning to try and update the operating platform to 'Icecreamsandwich' but cant do it...I dont feel too silly though as when I asked at my local 3 shop, 2 of the people there had the Samsung s2 but hadnt updated yet!!.

I have just downloaded 'myfitnesspal' and it seems great to keep an eye on your calorie intake, but I am a bit cautious that as a breastfeeding Mum, it would tempt me to reduce my calorie intake too much.  I have to confess though I need to up the walking/exercise portion but this weather lately doesnot help

26/04/2012 at 12:22

Womblezn1 i am also at a loss with 'icecreamsandwich' (i just LOVE the name though!!) - did the phone prompt you to update or have you looked up the update somewhere else and tried to download it?

I forgot to say I tried the camera, as the whole family was so excited about it. I took a photo of rubbish newspapers on top of the kitchen table and it was impressive what detail you could see. This is not the weather to take a shot of anything outside. It is so dark!

26/04/2012 at 18:36

I'm liking the HD video recorder too, we're HD converts in our house!

Womblenz1, i'm also breastfeeding but found my fitness pal actually encourages me to eat healthier, as for once i'm actually looking at food content, and realised i eat too much rubbish. (i already knew really but it's scary how it adds up when you're paying attention!) Veg is so calorie light so now i pile up to fill up!

My 3 training man was really helpful, love the fast way of texting where you don't have to type separate letters, and he found me an mp3 app which allows you free music downloads. And 'Say no to 0870' is worth downloading too if you phone your bank, insurance, any other 0870/0845 etc numbers!
