Hi ladies, please can I join you?

I had very light and short AF from 18-20 Jan. I then had a 31 day cycle and had what I thought was AF from 17 Feb up until now. I was getting worried as I had been bleeding on and off for 12 days (not like me at all) and so took a test last night. To my complete disbelief internet cheapy was BFP and CBD said pregnant 1-2.

Had an early scan today as was worried about ectopic (had/still have pains on right side) but they said I'd had a complete miscarriage. I would have been 6 weeks pg from the date of my AF in Jan. I guess the CBD only says 1-2 because the HCG levels in my blood have reduced. Weirdly though I took a test AF arrived and was BFN.

This would have been my first pregnancy so even though I found out I was pg and then lost it all in 48 hours I still feel very sad about it all. We have been TTC since Oct 11 but have only had 3 cycles as periods have been a bit irregular since coming off bc. Hopefully they are starting to get regular again now.

I suppose the good news is that they did an internal scan too and said my ovaries looked fine (I had been worried about PCOS) and I guess it shows I can get pregnant, just need the next one to stick.

How long should I expect it to take for pg tests to show negative? I was thinking of testing again Monday. xx

Hello ck

Sorry you have had such bad news and for your loss - I hope you are looking after yourself.

Everyone is different and it depends on how high your hormones were in the first place - with my mc's it has taken me 10 - 17 days to get a negative result post mc.

Take care of you and your OH - make sure you are kind to yourself and do what you want to do when you want to do it. Do come and join us on the thread again when you are feeling ready.

Hello

sorry to hear about your loss.

I think it took just over 2 weeks for my tests to be negative again, I was testing every 2 or 3 days. I had a complete freak out at one that looked like a bfp after 2 completely clear ones, but the line was in the wrong place and slightly squint like it was a dodgy test or something, or maybe hCG levels can fluctuate slightly before they completely settle down? Really don't know. Defintely wasn't a real positive though as I'm now CD4...

Good luck for ttc again

Hi, sorry so for you loss, it took abt 2 weeks but in general the earlier on the mc the quicker the results return to bfn. If ur hcg is on way down there is a good chance u will have bfn in a week or so. With my mc I bled for abt 14 days from erpc and ovulated on day 16 past erpc. So even though I had hcg in system for most of the 14 days I still ovulated quickly after. Good luck and big hugs x x

Thanks ladies, feeling a bit better today. Does anyone know if I get pg again will they give me an early scan as I mc this time? Just thinking that I will be so scared if we get pg again that the same thing is going to happen.
