It has often been said 'don’t run before you can walk', but nobody told tiny twins William and Ellenita Trykush about swimming before they can crawl!

The nine-month-old water babies have learned to swim the length of a 25 metre pool, before they have learned to walk, talk or even crawl.

The adorable duo’s favoured style is backstroke, propelling themselves forward by kicking their little legs.

The siblings’ parents, Charlotte and Victor Trykush, first noticed their children's uncanny ability on a family holiday to Cyprus, when they began swimming underwater unaided by armbands.

Charlotte then took the twins to a local pool in Gloucestershire, where they displayed their talents further, “First they did five metres, then a width at seven metres, and then a length of 12 metres,” she said.

“I suggested to their teacher that we try the big pool. They did an entire length with me swimming underneath them on my back to make sure they were all right.”

Now William and Ellenita’s father has Olympic glory in mind for his prodigious offspring, saying, "We won’t push them but it would be amazing to see them at the 2028 games.”
