This year Olivia stays as the number one girls name for the second year running with 5279 births, according to the Office for National Statistics.
Male equivalent Oliver, with 8,427 births, holds the top spot for most popular baby boy’s name and similar name Ollie, has made the biggest climb of any name in the top hundred, jumping 52 places from 115 in 2009 to 63 in 2010.

Six new names joined the top 100: Ollie, Bobby, Caleb, Jenson, Dexter and Kayden; in 2009, Ollie (115), Dexter (125) and Jenson (143) were outside the top 110.
Second place, Jack is a non-mover, as well as Harry, Alfie and Jayden (26), while biblical names such as Noah , Jacob and Zachary were among those rising up the boys' top 100.
However, the statistics are not the same all over the country. Jack overtook Oliver in the North East as the most popular boys' name.
Kai, the name of Wayne and Coleen Rooney’s son proved to be an inspiration to many, climbing 12 place to 56.

Maisy, rose 41 places from number 141 to 100 this year, showing the largest rise of any girl’s name in the top 100.
Annabelle, Eliza, Laila, Maryam and Maisy managed to join the top 100.
Welsh mothers chose Ruby as their most preferred baby girl’s name, whilst Sophie was the most popular in the East of England and Lily in the South West.
