Beyoncé has shared her highly personal view of labour and giving birth as she welcomed Blue Ivy into the world.

In an interview in the March issue of Vogue, the superstar revealed that she felt like she and her daughter Blue Ivy “were talking” during birth.

“I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door,” she explained.

“And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain… I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication.”

The mum-of-one also said she’d like to have more children some day.

More like this

“When I was younger, there were moments where I said, ‘I’m not going to have children,’” she said.

“And then moments when I wanted four. And now I definitely want another, but I don’t know when.”

The star also explained how her post-pregancy body has changed her body image for the better.

“I just feel my body means something completely different. I feel a lot more confident about it,” she said.

“Even being heavier, thinner, whatever. I feel a lot more like a woman. More feminine, more sensual. And no shame.”
