Hiya, my little girl will be 19mths old when the new one is due in May, I'm fully expectin it to be hard work but what I'd really like advice on is how do you prepare your little un for the new arrival when they are so young and don't really understand?

We didn't really do anything to prepare dd1 for dd2. Only to point to my bump and call it baby. Then when she understood that we would ask her to kiss or hug the baby - to which she would kiss or hug my bump. DD1 is very affectionate, so that was easy. Then when we arrived home, we introduced the baby, to which dd1 gave her a kiss and a hug. She also has a doll which is her baby and so she copies me when it comes to cuddles and winding etc.
The age gap between my two is 17months

Hiya, thats pretty much what we've been doing with the bump but I think we're confusing her a bit though, as I've bought her a doll and pram and when I say where's your baby she points to her belly lol.
You've give me a lot of hope now though that she won't reject him when he comes cos she too is a very affectionate child, thanks x

hi my little girl is 5 and she is really looking forward to the new arrival, im 29+6, the only thing im not looking forward to is what if she feels pushed out as she has been use to being on her own for 5 years so there will be a big change as she wont have me all to herself anymore, she will be a good little helper as she loves to get involved where babys are she is a proper little mummy.x
