Subject : AMH Blood Tests

Hi gang

I am 47 (almost 48) and have now been told I am peri-menopausal. I mc when i was 45 and up to being 46, i was still coming back with excellent fsh readings but no baby Confused I then had a terrible stressful experience at work which lasted nearly a year and my afs stopped for a while and then became very intermittent. More recently they have settled down but my FSH results are now poor Sad. The last three were 56.2, 14.6 and 42.2. I am due to have a mid cycle scan on Monday to see what is occurring and an appointment with the Fertility Clinic Specialist on 27th March (4 days before my 48th birthday). I am desperate to have one more baby as my partner doesnt have any children. I have one son aged 12. I so hope that it isnt quite all over for me Sad

A friend of mine is ttc and is going down the IVF route but has been told she is a poor responder and has to have an AMH test. This is a new test which is supposed to be able to tell you how many eggs you have left and what their quality is like. Has anyone on here had one of these tests and what did the results say? Dont think its available on NHS yet and is quite expensive but it may give me an idea if i am now past my reproductive years although like i say, less than 2 years ago, before the stress, my fsh was only 4.

Sorry for the ramble but just wondered if anyone had either heard of it or had it done.

Lots of love, bluebird xxxx Smile
