Subject : Another weaning question
Hi
Another weaning question, we have bought a few jars of puree for Brooke to try, when you are using the puree from the jars, how much should you give? (e.g. is three small spoons too much?), also do you still give the bottle as well? or do you stop giving the bottle when you give the puree? Sorry so many questions.
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks

Hi. I don't use jars but give Darcy 2 tablespoons of puree at the minute (been following gina ford which gives an idea of amounts and when to increase)I give her half a breastfeed before puree as milk is still most important before 6 months then give her puree then offer her other breast. She sometimes leaves a little bit of puree but sometimes has it all

Hi, I'm giving Emmie homemade food and jars if i'm on the go. Yes when i started to wean i gave her 2 or 3 baby spoonfuls of food. I also mixed in a bit of babymilk and babyrice to make it creamier and take the edge off the taste if it was a stronger food. I always give her a bottle when i give solids. When i began i gave the milk first to ensure she got that down her. Now I give her a bottle and breakfast at 7am, bottle at 10.30am, solid and drink of water/juice at lunchtime, bottle at 2.30pm, small bottle, solid and water at 5pm, bedtime bottle 6.45pm. That's it for the day. Hope that helps?
