Subject : Doctors update
Well i went to the doctors today and wasn't prescribed anymore progesterone to bring on Af or anymore clomid, even though i have only taken 1 months worth. Doctor has referred me to infertility clinic and OH has to go and do a sperm sample. I feel so down and deflated now.
What should i expect when we have appointment at the clinic??

Try not to feel deflated, this is all positive action!
Your first appt at the fertility clinic may well just be a chat. We both went, and the specialist went through all our test results (my bloods and his sperm). They asked lots of questions about our health, medical history, lifestyle etc, and about our parents and so on.
That was it, really. They asked me to make an appt for an internal scan, and OH had to give another SA.

hey honey
I've got my first appointment in Jan, they have told me to bring oh and that i will only be seen by the specialist nurse, but i will get the internal scan that day and be given the results. I think it depends where you are as to what happens at appointment, but they told me what to expect in the letter they sent, but still unsure of what questions i should be asking!
Good luck and try to think of it as a positive move, another step towards your lo. .!!

Sweetie, try not to feel too deflated and down, maybe your GP feels its best to get help from the professionals in the fertility area - that way you're going to get the best help in TTC and getting your BFP...
Hope you don't have too long of a wait in getting your appt...
Me and DH had a medical student take notes of our previous sexual history, my last cycle dates, length of period, flow, any mediation/vitamins we were taking, blood pressure, height and weight, how often we have sex, if i have any pains during sex, or OV, any family history in fertility issues etc etc....
we then went in to see the GP who read through all our notes and recommended a semen analysis, HSG and dye scan and 21 OV blood tests. .. before leaving me made an appt in 3mths to get the results...
Keep your PMA up hun xx

Hi hunny
(((((((big hugs)
Did your doctor say why they are have decided to only give one month of clomid?
At my first appointment we had a general chat, I had an internal and then had to have some blood tests done. I then had to go for a scan on my ovaries which led to having another internal as they couldn't see the ovaries via the scan.
I had to go for a HSG today to see if there are any blockages in the ovaries however that didn't work so I am not sure what my next step is. x

Regarding our sexual history they only asked us if either of us had any previous STDs.

Don't feel disheartened hun. This is really positive progress. At least they are taking you seriously and everything will be checked out properly. You don't want to be taking clomid if your tubes are blocked or his swimmers aren't good as that is just wasted chances and as you can only take clomid for limited time you don't want to run out of cycles. My gp said they really shouldn't give clomid without checking things like that first.
Our first appt was a bit of a waste of time - we were asked lots of questions - age, how long ttc, had we had any std's, how many times bd, what are cycles like, cycles history before pill, family history etc etc etc. All v brief. I had already had internal scan before that which confirmed ovaries were normal.
We were told to go away and come back in 3 months if still no ov. My gp then ran another set of blood tests and when we went back they prescribed the clomid as by that point I hadn't ov'd in about 5 months.
Do you know how long you will have to wait for your appt?
Don't worry - they don't ask anything too probbing. And it's amazing how blase you get about talking about your sex life after you have seen what feels like a hundred different docs!

Gp said hopefully shouldn't be waiting to long for appointment but it wouldn't be this side of xmas, which i wasnt expecting anyway!
If i was to get AF now i don't know whether i should take the clomid i was prescribed last time as i have 2 months worth left, what do u think?
Ahh Mrs Calopa sorry it didnt work for you, have you got to go back to see them again?
I have had a bit of a pink smudge in my underwear tonight, but nothing when i wipe. Do u think this could be AF arriving??

I probably wouldn't take the clomid if I were you. I know it's tempting but they say you can only do a limited number of cycles on it so you don't want to waste another one if it turns out that the SA results are bad, or that your tubes are blocked etc
You never knew your appt might be early Jan and the next few weeks will fly by as it's xmas and ney year.
Pink could be af arriving. Apparently clomid can have a knock on effect to the next cycle so even if you don't tzake it again it might still make you ov next cycle/ Fingers crossed. xx
