Subject : heartbroken- please help x

i know this probably isnt the best place to post this and I am sorry if I cause anyone upset or distress when reading this but i would really like some help or info? posted the same thing on MC support but I know this is the busiest forum and would really like some advice from you all...

I would have been 12 weeks preg this thursday, however on sunday I had a very slight bleed, was sent for a scan at the EPU yest and was devestatingly told that our little ones heart had stopped beating at 8 weeks (we had an early scan at 7 weeks and all was fine).
Just cannot believe it.
Hubby has been so good and so have friends and family but at the moment im a bit in limbo as I haven't actually miscarried yet (its a missed miscarriage).
Had a few small cramps and a bit of browny pink blood but apart from that thats it.

I was sent home saying I could either let nature take its course or go for a ERPC.
I really dont know whats best to do??
They said nature could take a few weeks ( the baby died nearly 4 weeks ago as it is) and i dont want it to drag on till xmas but is it best to let it come out naturally??

Has anyone else had an ERPC? how long does it take etc? doc wasnt very helpful just gave me a leaflet and when i asked about the risk she started telling me horror stories about infections and the womb being perferated etc.

Did you count the ERPC as CD1 and get back pretty much into a regular cycle after or did it take longer? is there still bleeding after a ERPC?

sorry for all the questions- i dont know if I am coming or going at the moment- would really appreciate your experiences/thoughts on this- i just dont know what to do..

thanks. x

I'm so so sorry to hear this, I can't offer any personal experiences but I know there are alot of girls on here who have been through the same thing and will be able to help.

I hope you get all the support you need and I wish you all the luck when you are ready to try again.

Take care x

Hi Susanlee,am so sorry that you are having to go through this,I had a mmc in august and had a natural miscarriage and if i had the choice again i would have an ERPC,that is my personal choice as i would never want to go through a natural mc again. If you need any other advice please feel free to contact me.xx

Firstly I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Ive had both types of miscarriage. First one was complete (where I bled) and the second I had an erpc. My personal choice would be to have the erpc, purely as I was advised it would "clear everything out". After my erpc my period returned as normal, and after a period we started trying again and I fell pregnant straight away. They do advise to wait at least one period before starting again to get the insides ready.
My friend refused an erpc and waited for the natural process, however after the bleed they still found traces of the pregnancy and she had to have a erpc anyway.
Once again Im sorry and I hope the above helps you make your decision. Please remember everyone is diffferent and this is your personal choice.

Please take care
xxxx

hi my dear - i am so sorry you are going through this. I was 9 weeks pregnant with twins and i found out on friday that both heartbeats had stopped. I had an erpc yesterday and i feel so much better as i hated the thought of them being there not beating over the weekend.

I bled quite alot but not enough for a transfusion and left 5 hours after the procedure. I feel so much better that my lttle ones are stars now and not suffering. I insisted on a final scan yesterday just to make sure and have pictures of them both.

I feel devastated empty hurt heartbroken - but the actual procedure i would recommend as i now have hardly any bleeding - not even a light period - and with paracetomol and ibroprofen there is not alot of physical pain. If you want any more info or want to call me do not hesitate - 07773325846 (shouldnt really do that on here!) take care - we can get through this x x x x x

hi

I can't add anything different to the others as my mcs were natural and complete so didn't have to make the choice.

But, I didn't want to r&r and wanted to add how sorry I am to hear this. Cliche though it is, time is a healer and it does get easier
