Subject : anyone else measuring big?

Hi,

Went to my midwife appt today and she measured me 31weeks!!! Im only 27+1. Now i have to have another scan and blood tests to see if its a big baby or lots of fluid which can mean diabietes(spelt soooo wrong sorry). Has this happened to anyone else?

Hubby found the whole thing very funny as the midwife measured me four times!!

I havnt actually been measured yet :[
hoping to be measure next week :]:]
But i do believe that it is very common to be measured big or small.
Most the time nothing to worry about

Yep I have been to midwife today and measured 30 cm at 27 and half weeks. My midwife said it should be + or - 2 cm your actual weeks so it is fine. She said it will probably be a 7 to 8lb baby in the end. I was worried intially but midwife was lovely and reassuring. x

I measured 26cm at my last app where i was 25+4 - midwife didnt say anything (she isnt one for speaking) but i would guess then that this is ok.

Yep I'm measuring big too. I'm 29 + 2 and measuring 31...then again my last baby was 11lb 10oz!!! I'm weeing virtually pure glucose so am off for a Glucose Tolerance Test on Monday......happy days!! Hopefully it will come back negative as can't bear the thought of not eating chocolate lol!!
The mw said I would be scanned at 34/35 wks but whatever the size come full term I would be expected to give birth naturally again...yikes!! Don't wanna be going in for any world records!! Good luck and keep us all posted, Kate x

When I went on Thursday for my 28 week appointment (I'm supposedly 28 + 5), I measure 29 cm, which is at the higher point of the chart (and in fact if you go along the chart makes me 30-31 weeks).

My original due date is 4 February, which would make me 31 weeks this weekend, but I'm going by their dates which makes me 29 weeks today. Still reckon it could be any time between the two as going by date I think I conceived it would more likely be the first date. However, as everyone reckons 1st babies come late - it'll more likely come nearer the 2nd date. Confused

Who knows - as long as it's healthy and arrives safely, that's all that matters.:\)

I measured big with number 1 who was 8lb 15oz and number 3 who was 8lb 8oz. Baby number 2 had perfect measurements and ended up being 10lb 3oz. Have had Glucose tolerance test with last 2 and with this one and all have been fine. Babies will be what they will be but for the record, all 3 of mine have been normal vaginal births and the 10lb 3oz baby was the quickest (2hrs and 25mins) only pushed for 8 minutes and didn't tear! Try not to worry too much, the female body is an amazing thing and you will be ok!

Glad to hear that I am not the only one. i am currently measuring 6 weeks ahead of what I should be. The baby is already 2lbs 11oz when I was 28 weeks pregnant. I have my Glucose Tolerance Test this week to double check whether I am diabetic but then the midwife said either way they will still treat me as if I am as I have Glucose in my urine and keep passing out together with a few other symptons of being Diabetic.

Has anyone mentioned to anyone about whether they will delivery your earlier or not? I am hoping that this is the case as I am now rather impatient.

All fun, its amazing what we have to put up with!!!
