Hi has anyone got any ideas?? My little lady is 2 years old and has had a temp since last friday so she's been dosed up on calpol since, I took her to the doctors yesterday and he's given me Ibruprofen to give her as well

Gone to give her medicine this morning and she refuses to have any inc Calpol I think she's had enough of the stuff!! Trouble is she's not eating either tryed putting it in a yogurt this morninbg she took 3 mouthfuls and thats all she'll have!

Need some ideas as her temp is rising back up again!! Don't know what I'm gonna do if she needs antibiotics as well tomoz!!!

do u use a syringe? My lo loves the syringe & to get him used to it I let him play with another one whilst giving him the medicine. Otherwise I add it to a small amount of milk & have in the past done as you did, mixed in yogurt but tbh he takes the syringe so no need really to hide it anymore.

I know it sounds bad but if she really wont take it then you will just have to hold her head & syringe it in then hold her mouth shut. It is hard to do but if she really needs it then you have to get it in her anyway possible. We had to do this last week as sonny was so feverish he was refusing everything so I laid him down, daddy held his head & I forced his mouth open, he cried for a couple of minuted but once the calpol & neurofen kicked in he stopped as it made him feel so much better. Cruel to be kind. :(

syringe it into the back of her cheek then she should swallow best part of it as she'll have no choice - sounds so mean but it is better in the long run. good luck xx

I agree with the others, also if you lay her back a bit whilst you squirt it into her mouth (may need 2 of you depending on how strong or wriggly she is) it should run straight down her throat before she has a chance to spit it out x
