Hello everyone,

This is my first time on here, but i recognise a few names from from my time on YAYW!

I'm after a bit of advice, but more just support! My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary on the 6th of September with a weekend in Rome, and I somehow managed to leave for our early morning flight without my pill. Took it on the Thursday, then missed Fri, Sat and Sun. Got back Monday morning and went straight to the docs for the morning after pill. The nurse explained that i was borderline 72 hours so was cutting it fine, but took it anyway. I carried on my pill from the Monday, took the last 7 days of that packet then continued straight onto the next.

Had my break as normal w/c 6th Oct, but my period never came. Did a home test which was negative so put it down to the change in hormones etc and thought my body was just a bit confuesd. Took next packet of pill, had my break w/c 3rd Nov, but still no period. This time i made an appointment to see the nurse (same one i got the morning after pill from) and she advised me to put in an early morning sample. So i did, and im going back for the results tomorrow.

The thing is, i really don't know how i feel about it! As much as i did everything i could not be pregnant, i would be very disappointed now if i wasn't!! It's not that hubby and i dont want a baby, we had just agreed that now wasn't the best time due to me starting new job, working on the house and wanting a big holiday before starting a family. We were planning on TTC about this time next year for a 2010 baby. But now i want one now!! Im so confused!!!

So i guess my question is has anyone on here fallen pregnant after taking the morning after pill? Or am i just kidding myself? I know i'll find out for definite tomorrow, but my heads all over the place!!

I haven't experienced falling pregnant immediately after taking morning after pill, but my best friend has. She took it on the borderline 72 hrs and never had her period, took a pregnancy test and was positive. After the initial shock she came round to the idea and now has a 1yr old little boy and couldn't be happier.

Hi and welcome to the site.
I took the morning after pill within 48 hours and now have a very healthy 16 month old son. It can happen but the midwife told me it's pretty rare.

hey what was your result? i have been on the pill and in the middle of the last pack had to take antibiotics.. wasn't given usual warning so forgot to use anything extra.. so then panicked last Thursday and took the MAP. I was fine all weekend but then had backache and cramping like my period going to start but nothing.. it should start today or tomorrow but hasnt. have got v v light spotting but nothing to write home about.. did a preg test today and negative..

my friend took the morning after pill and it didnt work and she was pregnant, so there is definatly a chance you could be, you should take another pregnancy test in a few days time. good luck
