I haven't used one yet - but will get one when af finally turns up (although hoping bfp comes first!!)
Its clear blue fertility monitor.About £99 from boots, a device used each month to highlight your most fertile days. you also need some sticks to go with it. You poas at certain days in your cycle as the device says and it gives you a reading from low fertility days, to high and peak days - when you should be bd-ing.
hope this helps.

Hi Ladies. I have just got my BFP using a CBFM and can't recommend t highly enough, especially if you are as impatient as me and as much of a control freak as me! You can get them from Boots but they cost the most here. Or order them online or though e-bay. Basically, you are asked to set the monitor on the first day of af, at the time you wish to test on a daily basis (they ask that is be at roughly the same time every day, and is best with the first urine of the day). On CD6 it will ask you to pee on s stick and insert it into the machine. It analyses your urine for hormones and tells you is you are low, hugh or peak fertility. Low is right after af and right before af, high is the build up to ovulation and peak is when the monitor detects the LH surge indicating that ov will occur in the next 12 - 36 hours. You can use the monitor is your cycle length is less than 42 day as you can only use 20 sticks with the monitor per cycle. Visit the Clear Blue web site as it has lots of info on stats, but basically you are 50% more likely to get BFP with the monitor (I think that is right). The long and short of it is that it helps highlight when you are most fertile, thus giving you the best chance of getting pg. The monitor stores 6 cycles worth of data so the more you use it, the more accurate the monitor is to your body. Well worth the money in my book, especially as before using CBFM I was totally stressed out with temp charting, cm analysis, CP etc. xx

Hi, I'm thinking of getting one of these now after hearing about it on this site! Little Toad was saying that you start testing on CD6, however I have a really short cycle and i think some months I may ovulate before this day. Can you not test before CD6 using this?

I'm really thinking of getting one of these. They are expensive but sound more reliable than the ov sticks I had, which always seem to give confusing results.

Does anyone have a seller they could recommend on ebay?

Thanks

Hazelnut, I reckon you could tell it you are on day 5 when you're really on day 1 or 2 then you wouldn't miss OV.

Hey Hazlenut! Yes - basically if says to set the monitor on your first day of AF, but when AF arrives, you can set it so that it is set to being CD4 for example when really you are CD1. That way on CD6 for the monitor which will really be your CD4 (I think that is right) it will ask you to start testing. Also, as you use it over time (if you dont get BFP straight away) it will get to know your cycle better. Perhaps call the CB Help Line and explain as they are the experts and will be able to tell you for sure! Good luck! xx

Thanks Little Toad! Am I right in that you've just had a BFP? Congratulations- I'm really pleased for you. How long were you using your CBFM before you got this result?
