Hi

I am trying for a VBAC this time round but have now past my due date. I was interested to read that some of you have been induced as my consultant has said that it's not an option for me due to the increased risk of scar rupture. I have read some of you talking about a pessary. What is this? IS it a different form of induction?

Sorry if this has been asked before I have read through some old posts and they have been really interesting and useful but I still don't understand what this pessary is? Can anyone help me please. I am going to see my consultant tomorrow so was thinking I could maybe ask for it but feel a bit silly as I'm not sure what it is!

Basically they push a large tablet behind your uterus,it is to soften the cervix and help induce labour most of the time 2 are needed.
It doesnt hurt,just feels like an internal uncomfortable-i found it really brought on my contractions.
