Subject : 4 year old wetting bed!
Help - does anyone have any tips?! My 4 year old wears pull ups every night as she rarely stays dry in the night. I've reduced her drinks at tea time, introduced a star chart and rewards for dry nights but doesn't seem to work. Has anyone else had similar problems or can give me tips?
Thanks

Didn't want to r & r.....ur not alone hun! My eldest son is 4 in 2 wks and currently, we are keeping him in pull-ups at night time as it's far less stressful for him! He does have the odd dry night but every time we've tried a night without, he invariably wets the bed and gets so distraught over it that for the time being pull-ups are the way to go.
He's brilliant during the day, even goes b4 he goes bed too, and we've reduced his liquid intake during the afternoon and evenings but doesn't make a lot of difference. Apparently, it's all to do with a chemical in the brain that controls bodily functions when we're asleep - it's generally known to 'kick-in' late in boys but can be late in any child.
We've kinda decided, as he's perfectly ok otherwise and a much happier sleeper with a pull-up at night, that we'll carry on as is for now. Obviously, if it's still happening by time he's 5 then we'll get him chk'd out.

Thanks so much for the reply MummyX5!!! So nice to know I'm not alone, I think I'll see how she is after Xmas and then have a word with the health visitor if still no improvement.
Other mums make me feel like there is something wrong, so nice to hear your story.
thanks!

hiya, I know this post was done ages ago, but hadn't spotted it until now!! My lo is 4, and I've had to put him back into pullups, but he doesn't like wearing them so we have to sneak one on him when he is asleep. Otherwise, I would be washing two or three sheets every day. So glad there are others like me cos I was starting to get worried as our girl who is two, wakes up with a dry nappy every day. Spoken to other mum who's boy was the same, and also my health visitor said not to worry, just try again in a month or so. I don't think they do anyhting until they are seven anyway.
