Subject : OMG!! The fright of my life

Freya started choaking this morning. It not unusual, but she normally clears it herself. But this time I had to turn up side down and I have marked her back by slapping it. I feel so guilty but it was all I could do. She managed to get hold of the mic to the web came and chew bits off. I thought I cleared it all out of her mouth and sent her off to play. 10 mins later I heard her coughing, turned around and she was very red in the face reaching. I picked her up, slapped her back several times and nothing. She was crying so she could breath but my thinking was if it moves it could compleatly block her airways. I had no idea what it was she was choaking on. I rang oh to come and take us to hospital as that would have been quicker then 999. Lucky the stress and reaching maked her sick and that pushed it out. It was a tiny bit of metal no bigger then a 5 pence peice, but i think it has cut her mouth or throat as there was small amounts of blood her her sick. She is going to have a sore throat for a while. My god I have never felt terror like it, I'm still shaking a little now. Once Freya had had a drink it was as if nothing had happend. My god she could have died and it didn't even fase her once it was all over with. If fact 5 mins after the ordeal she was laughing and splashing in the bath as we were bothered in sick.

Kids 'A'!! I'm sure they are sent to test us!! She is now fast asleep, I wish as she decided to get up at 5 this morning. I love it here but so far Wales had given us nothing but bad luck!!!

Kerry, Freya and bumps.

P.s We never took her to hosp in the end as I managed to clear it. Will take her to doc tho if she has any problems. Yesterday she couldn't reach the top of the computer desk. I'm sure they grow inches over night, LoL.

Hello.

She was fine, only took 2mins to recover and it was like it never happend. They bounce back so quickly.

I do like it here but.......but the holiday feeling is wearing off and no I'm feeling a little lonely and isolated. I have found a couple of baby groups and made a friend (I feel like I have started a new school, lol) I miss having a group of friends I can just go to or walking into town and bumping into people I know. The area is lovely I just need to settle in really. Thanks for asking.

Hi Kerry,
Glad to hear all is well...you dealt extremely well with the situation unlike me when Tahlia chocked on a piece of banana. I went into a blind panic and came running to my hubby who calmly dealt with it.
Although I did react the proper way the 2nd time!

I can relate to how you are feeling about being somewhere new.
How long have you been in wales now?

Mauritius is great too, but now the Christmas season is coming I'm missing the cold abit and the whole crimbo feel England has.
Maybe just being preggie again is playing with my emotions.
I don't even have a baby club to go to or anyone who has a baby to socialise with.
I crave for an Argos, Primark and Icelands....lol
been here 8 months now and now I'm starting to feel things are missing..
got a stinker of the flu too in 28 degrees and the mozzies are driving me mad.
Luv & hugs Sarah xx

Hello Sarah
I have been living in Wales for 7 weeks, so not long at all. The last couple of weeks have been really hard. The tiredness has been hurrendous(sp?), I have had headaches I haven't been able to get rid off, I'm anemic and my back is playing up. My oh says I haven't been easy to live with and the smallest thing makes me cry. If I had this pg with Freya I wouldn't be pg now. I just hope it improves and its just the stress of the move and pg hormones just comming out. My house is a mess and only just plucked up enough energy to tidy down stairs, then my back gave in. Anyway got to ring doc's now for the rest of my test results.

Sorry for the moan. But on the plus side I am look forward to xmas. We are going on holiday the week before and spending the xmas week with my mum. Just my main worry is I won't want to come back, Frown

Why did you move to Mauritius?? We move here with oh job and money reasons. I couldn't life in a country with hot weather. I hate the heat!! Hope you feel settled soon.

Hi Kerry,
so sorry to hear about your back.!
Hubby & I have been together for 11 years and 2 years ago we all came out here for a holiday to visit my family and get married!
Both of us including our 3 children all fell in love with the relaxed way of living out here.
We decided as a family to make the move and we planned it for 14 months.
Our children are aged 14, 12, 9 and Tahlia has just turned 1 last week.
We sold our house and business and packed all our worldly goods and shipped them here.
It really has improved our way of living and quality of life for all of us.
The children have settled very well into school and have lots of new friends. We don't worry about their safety as much when they go out unlike we did in England. Here they have more freedom.
The weather is a bonus as they are always out doing things at the beach.
We had no family in England.
Another thing is we do love the hot weather as hubby & I used to have many aches & pains because of the cold weather.

I do feel alot better today - I think I was on a downer yesterday because of my flu.
Went out tonite with hubby and eat dinner sat on a wall near the beach and felt alot more positive about where we are.
Hope u feel ok too....Luv & hugs..Sarah xxxx

Hello.

My oh was in the Navy and I think he would love to life abroad. He doesn't like the way the government know everything about you and the nanny state we life in. Plus when we have gone abroad he just looks at at home. I would concider newzeland(sp?) but thats about it, but not untill the kids were older. I like to have proper seasons. Oh did have the chance to join the Newleland Navy but his wife at the time didn't want to go. Good job really or I would never have met him. Apart from the weather and the language it is like living abroad here. People are so much more friendly, pace of life is slowler and the crime rate in this county is tiny compared to where we used to life. But then here they have the facilities to keep kids entertained. Lots of sports, clubs, youth clubs etc and police presence. Also there is a sence of community sprit everybody knows everybody else but not there buisness, if you no what I mean. I think my hormones are getting to me and I'm missing my Mum. She is my best friend.
My Dad is down for the week, joy!! (sarcastic) My Dad and I only have been talking in the 18 months. Well since he found out I was expecting Freya. other then that I used to use him as a cheap holiday when he lived in Spain and I would hear from him when I had ago because he forgot mine and my brother birthday. Any way I'm ranting now.

Hope you have better weather then we do. Its cold, gery and damp here, but that is Welsh weater for you LoL.
