Iv stopped..............i cant be bothered. I stopped steralising with isaac at 5 months and the way i see it if Tylers putting toys in his mouth then i may aswell stop steralising. I remember steralising EVERYTHING with J for the 11 months (f***ing nightmare) and - dont know if its any coincidence but he picks up germs the easiest so has the most colds/bugs. could be that i didnt let him build up his own immunity defence early enough. ???

Feel like a really lazy mum now iv written that...........still not gonna sterilise though! xx xx

Hi

I still do Caitlins, but stopped with Robs at 7 moths and he gets ill quite a lot. According to reasearch its the bugs that stick to milk curds that they stop and grabbing things off floor does not do much harm. Its bloody hard work though doing it and remembering although dont use bottles too much mainly breast pump stuff xx

Take care hun xx

I did rhys' bottles right up until he was 13months, this wasn't coz i was worried about germs or anything, it was just habit and i found it dead hard to break my routine, sad i know. Not really thought about wen ill stop sterilising Sophies stuff, probably wen i go back to work in april and havent got the time anymore, lol. It does seem pointless sometimes tho coz everything goes in their mouths anyway and u dnt sterilise bowls and spoons wen u start weaning, lol. Each to their own i say, trust ur instincts. Kerry xxx

Havn't really given it much thought yet but my hv did say to sterilise all bowls and spoons for weaning too! Think the guidelines state upto 1 year but think its pointless once they start crawling as then you have no control over what goes in their mouths. xxxxxx
