Subject : What is it I want?

So, in amongst the throwing up and sickness, I now feel hungry, but I have literally no idea what it actually is I want to eat. I aimlessly open the fridge and cupboards but reject everything.

I know I want something, but what?

Anyone else get this, or am I just going insane? Plus, any suggestions for something for lunch...?Wink

I get this a lot at the moment (I am 27wks today) I sort of wander into the kitchen open cupboards & fridge and walk out again LOL! then I usually end up snacking on junk food because I am almost dizzy with hunger

I have been making a bigger effort this last week or two to have lots of fruit in the house to quickly snack on

During the 1st 12 wks I was addicted to eating salt & vinegar crisps & sipping in sprite as I couldn't manage any food

I am eating so many crisps, but (tmi) I have been sick after so many flavours that I'm now down to beef Hula Hoops!

But like you, I just look at it all and don't fancy anything. Maybe I'll have some spaghetti hoops - simple and bland....

Oh my god I have been like that for weeks! It's a nightmare isn't it. Hubby was getting so cross with me!

Thankfully it seems to be easing off now - has done with the sickness.

My advice, just think of lots of different food varieties / meal options and when one jumps out at you, eat it!!!

That's pretty much what I did - although I spent a lot of weeks 7-10 living on macaroni & cheese and cottage pie!!!

COTTAGE PIE?

That is it! DH is now under orders to bring mince home with him. Am having crackers, cheddar and pickle for lunch. I sniffed the spaghetti hoops as I opened the tin and immediately didn't want them.

Thanks ladies, I'm so glad I'm not the only one doing this. Crazy, isn't it?

3 cheers for cottage pie!!!!!!!!

We've had it twice in one week sometimes!!! I LOVE it!

Altho, hubby started to make them really sloppy and the mince and mash were mixing into one, so we made the 'mince and gravy' and mashed pots separaretly. Just as good!!!

Add some marmite to the mince too - nice bit of flavour!!!

It is so funny - I've recently stopped being veggie after twenty years, and I doubt I can remember what cottage pie really tastes like, but I have now got such an urge for it.

I might try it as the two separate components, as I don't like my mash getting sullied!

Marmite is such a good tip too - am just learning to cook meat, so this should be a challenge for me. I might even put cheese on top of the mashed potatoes....

JBean and Loren Olivia - you're still like this? Does that mean it doesn't go in the first trimester?

Better stock up on pickles and crackers in that case!

erm no I go through stages - sometimes I want to eat all the time & know exactly what I want & other times I don't fancy anything or can't find anything I want, there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to it LOL! at the moment I need to eat something small every couple of hours or I go all dizzy/shaky (weird WhateeeEver! )

I know how you feel, I'm 35+3 and I still get that now. I get so hungry and wander in to the kitchen for something to eat but end up walking out again because I can't decide what I fancy.

In the end I give in and just have a bowl of cereal or a couple of slices of toast WhateeeEver!

I've had it throughout the whole of my pregnancy so for me it didn't get better but for you it might!

Well, I'll wait for the curry craving to come on!

I've always been such a healthy eater that this is really odd for me, but I'm just going to go with the flow. Just wish I lived nearer a shop than I currently do.... cravings are hard to satisfy when I have to walk three miles to get anything!

that's quite amusing - i'm feeling pretty rough (still unsure if it's morning sickness or after effects of bug from last week) and i popped in tesco to grab something (i never usually buy ready made meals) and all i fancied was a cottage pie, how random! got to try and eat it later though.....!
