Subject : Warming Baby Rice???

I am about to start weaning my lo and wanted to know the best way to go about warming the baby rice. He has always had his milk at room temp. but I would like to warm the baby rice to give to him. Do I warm the water 1st then add the formula and then the baby rice of warm the mixed formula and then add baby rice or mix it all up 1st and how do people warm it? In a Microwave??

Any advice would be great!

Thanks :)

when i used to make tegans, i would make up a fresh bottle using hot water and then add this to the rice and let it cool to a warm ish temp and then give her the rice followed by her bottle. im not sure about doing it in the microwave as you can get heat spots xxx

I used to warm Lily's milk (breast or formula) then add the warmed milk to the rice.

Thanks, I was thinking of warming the milk up then adding the rice. How do most people warm the milk? I know you can get hot spots in a microwave but if you make sure it is mixed up enough then add then rice and mix it then surely it should be fine??

If people use the microwave how long do they warm it for??

Thanks x

I just made a bottle up as normal (boil kettle, leave for 1/2 hour then add formula). Possibly cool down in a jug of cold water if still too warm then add to baby rice whilst still nice & warm. I've never used a microwave to heat milk cos of hot spots.

I've got a bottle warmer, so always used that at home. If I'm out elsewhere standing the bottle in a jug of just boiled water for a few minutes works just as well.
Never used a microwave either.

I have always used a microwave for about 20 seconds but give it a good old shake and test it on my arm!

I used a microwave for all three of my boys and havent burnt one yet!
