Are braxton hicks when your bump goes tight?
Are they painful?

For the past few days I've been getting bad period type pains with lower back ache, always in the evening, with it worsening every 15 mins. And it gets really bad after sex (sorry tmi).
It can be really painful, I've been having to go in the bath or get down on all fours to breathe through them.

I'm only 33+2 so I have a far way to go until my due date....is it just my body getting ready?

yeah from what i've read and what i've felt its when your uterus contracts. mine started a few weeks ago, with a weird tightening sensation, its never painful just uncomfortable and only lasts a few seconds.
have been feeling it more during the day now when i am wandering around.
i sometimes get a bit achy lowerdown a little like AF cramps i suppose.
but yeah from what i gather its just the body practising for the real thing!
