I didn't use rusks as lots of sugar (even the sugar free ones! How silly) in them but i did use baby rice. I don't think it made a huge amount of difference - maybe an hour or so, but if thats what you need then go for it! It's supposed to keep them fuller for longer.
Though remember babies have LOADS of growth spurts when theyre little so you could wait a couple of days and see if it eases up anyways? xxx

Also goodnight milk is a thicker formula to make them fuller for longer. I think its similar to rusks in a bottle but...not. Its only supposed to be used from 6 months though. IS a godsend but DO wait until at least a bit closer to 6 months!
Dream feeds are where you put baby to bed as usual and just before you go to bed you give them a feed while theyre still asleep. It only worked once for harry as he kept waking up and wanting to play! But its worth a shot if it means more sleep! X

Yeah just made up the bottle as normal (by the time i thought about it Harry was having 7oz) and just added a couple of teaspoons in - depending on how much milk Max has already of course! And shake it really really OTT well just incase X

I'm sorry in advance for this but babies do wake regularly at 2 weeks old expecting to be fed - it's what they do and you just have to get used to it!! to put rice in the bottle at 2 weeks is, in my opinion far too early!
I understand why people do it a bit later as it is hard work getting up every 2 or 3 hours through the night but you must have expected it?? I know a few people who have done it from 9 weeks ish as their babies have been really hungry and needed it - but I don't agree with giving to to babies so young just to try and get them to sleep for longer.

Hiya,
Ive been dreamfeeding my lo since she was 7 wks, shes now 15 wks old. She has her last bottle after bath about 7ish. Then she goes to bed in her cot. Then wen I go to bed, anytime between 10.30 - 11.30 I give her a 6 oz bottle, sometimes she finishes all of it sometimes she has only about 4oz. If she doesnt take this feed she is usually up again about 3-4 in morning. It took her a while to take the dream feed, but now she doesnt even wake up, just guzzles it down , wind her gently and off to sleep again.
It does take a while, but keep at it, its worth it in the long run. She sometimes sleeps 13 hrs a night. In the beggining she used to wake every 2-3 hrs a night. Which was so hard. I personally wudnt give rusk in bottles.
Good luck
Naz&Baby Summer.

Please dont put rusks in bottles!!!! Or anything that contains sugar! The sugar can actually damage babies teeth before they start teething and then they will be born woth already sugar effected teeth!
As for baby rice - as government guidlines say weaning shouldn't start till min of 17 weeks, est 6 months - surley this would be weaning far too early??? As baby rice is part of weaning??/
And as others have said, your lo is still very tiny they will wake up lots, although other babies sleep through from longer, apparently they shouldn't be capable of taking enough milk to satisfy them throughthe night till tleast 3 months! (That said a freind of mine has had her lo sleeping thrpough from about 8 weeks and my lo still wakes for 3 feeds and is 13 weeks!
I know it is tiring but perhaps clucster feeding, dream feeding and an established bedtime routine are better ideas!

I know people did the rusk in the bottle thing for years and no harmcame from it, so its up to you as he is your child after all. What milk is he on? Have you tried hungry baby formula?

I remember my mum doing this for my little sister who now is 20 . She is a healthy, clever girl. Not over weight. So it didnt do her any harm.

Hi thanks for your replies, but it seems some of you didnt read my post properly, i never said i was going to do it, i said th opposite and that i wouldnt do it. My FRIEND is the one who does it and i was concerned, as for my own son, he wakes every two hours hungry and also suffers with colic, if i was going to try anything it would prob be hungry baby milk but i havent done this yet as i dont want to upset his tummy. I was only asking about the baby rice out of curiosity, not that i wanted to do it. Please take time to read my post properly before you judge me. I'm a little worn out as i have 2 small children who have to get up in a morning for school and was just curious about the goodnight milk and dream feeding. I would never do anything to harm my son that is why i have not given him anything other than the milk he has been on for the past 2 1/2 weeks, i was just curious to what other ppl have done.
Thanks sara

I am a bad mummy! lol i gave brooke rusk in her bottle from about 6 weeks maybe a bit after.. not sure.. only half a sugar free rusk it def helped her sleep. i have a very hungry baby hungry baby milk didnt even settle her. she was weaned at about 13 weeks. on hospital advice.
i know u say u wudnt do it anyway but at 2 weeks i think i would expect them to wake alot at that age. must be hard work with another 2 to get up and ready in the morning! respect to you!!!
brooke is now 15 months and still eats for england! she is a constant eating machine!! but she is the happiest baby i know she is slightly over weight but she always has been! and now she is walking it is falling off her! she is a baby and babies are meant to have chunky thighs and rolls! thats what babies are!
sounds like ur doing really well hun!
xx

Sara hungry baby milk is suitable from birth it may cause mild constipation but giving sips of cool boiled water in between should control the problem, might be worth giving it a try x

I apologise if it sounded like I was judging you in my post, I did read that bit about you not having the guts to do it but reading my post again I realise it looks like i'm trying to give you advice!
I do think though that giving a baby rice or a rusk in a bottle is like weaning them early??!!
Sorry again,
Lisa
