Subject : Do you need to heat up bought baby food?

Hi
I have been feeding my 14 month old baby ready prepared baby food like Heinz and Hipp Organic. I have always served straight from the jar or plastic pot. Am I supposed to heat it up first?

I thought that because it's all cooked anyway that there would be no need to cook it again. It takes 30 minutes or more to feed my baby so any warmed up food would get cold again. So far my baby has not had any problems.

What do other mothers do about heating up bought baby food?

If your lo is happy to eat it cold then there is no need to warm it up. It's fine to serve it unheated, I used to to it quite often if we were out and about.

There's no need to heat if it you don't want to as it is fine cold but if you wanted to make it a bit different for your baby, a quick blast for 30 seconds in the microwave would probably be enough or standing it in a bowl of hot water for a couple of mins.

I generally will always heat kade's food even though it is stone cold by the time he finishes it lol.

I didn't heat it up as mine was happy to eat it at room temperature. It also makes it easier when you're out and about if your baby is used to food without it being warmed up!
