I think it depends on the baby but I do think a good night time routine helps.

One thing thay i have always thought helpful (although a lot of work) is too express and give milk through bottle last feed at night so baby learns to distinguish between day and night feeds. saying this my lo wont at moment take a bottle but am working on it (hes 8 weeks)

My friends lo is ff and still wakes every few hours so it might not be the bfeeding that is causing him to wake.

Sorry im not more help xxDBXx

My 12 week old breast fed baby will sleep or up to 6 hours at night.

For your baby to sleep well at night, make sure he is getting enough feed during the day, if you start putting him to bed at 6, offer him a feed at 2pm and 4pm so he has plenty in his system, keep up with the bath etc routine and hopefully he will get the hang of it.

Don't know if this helps but we had a really strict evening / nightime routine with Evie. Bath, feed, bed at 7 then regardless of whether she woke for it I would feed her at 10.45-11 ish. Even if this was a really sleepy feed she would take a good amount then settle straight away. From 10 weeks old she then slept through till 6am ish. I carried on with this routine till 5 1/2 months (on 3 solid meals per day) when I eventually dropped the 11pm feed and she has slept through from 7 till 7 since then! Good luck
