I'm from the Vale of Glam but I live in Portsmouth at the moment. I'm going to have my baby in Wales though because I want my Mam nearby, so will probably be in Princess of Wales, Bridgend. We were all born in Bridgend.

Really?! Eek, Singleton is miles away from us, maybe Cardiff would be better then. I wanted to go to Llandough but I read its midwife led now and only for locals :( x

Hey spitting fairy, did you used to be on YAYW and did you get married at the Bear in Cowbridge? I think I remember you. Congrats on yout twins! Where did you have them? Does Barry hospital have a maternity bit as that would be closer to me than Bridgend or Cardiff x

Hi tink-a-belle! Yep that's me,been married nearly 18 months now! I had the boys in the heath, barry hospital doesn't have anything really, llandough do all the scans etc and you're right,it is only midwife led now. The heath have midwife and consultant,I had to have a c section so had to go there. We wanted to go to Royal Glam as it's much cleaner/nicer/closer than the Heath but they have been flooded with people thinking the same so are refusing 99% of non locals, and the 1% they do accept must have applied at the 8 week booking appointment.

What do you think you'll do? When are you due? xx

Wow, time really has gone fast!

I don't know, I'm due end of March but I am 10+4 weeks now and still havn't heard from my midwife here. I'm going to call my doctors today to see what is happening. I will tell my midwife that I want to have all my pre-natal stuff here and then move to Wales for the birth and hopefully she will say that is fine etc and sort me out. My biggest worry is that she will say that I can't do that, but I fail to see how they can tell me where I have to give birth so I'm taking husband with me to argue my case. I'd rather do it with the midwife on my side than have to do it by myself. Mid Glam is in LLantristant isn't it? I think it'll probably be Princess of Wales or Heath for me. I don't especially care where it is so long as I am near my friends and family and not totally alone like I would be down here xx

Hello.

I don't know if anyone will read this as it's an old post. I'm in South Wales and just over the severn bridges border. But I am English and only lived here for a year. I tried setting up a meeting for baby expert users around 6 months ago but didn't get alot of responce. I am originally from the Oct 07 forum and now the April 09. Both are little girls. I have also only been married 4 months to my lovely hubby Rob. He works for the South Wales Fire Service,

I hope there is a reply. There is only 2 other users that I knew of. One of whic lives in the same town as me.
