Subject : Recommend a book? new BFP!

Hi ladies, I'm a long term TTC-er...until Saturday this weekend when I finally got my BFP! ...I'm still in shock so whilst I settle down I just wondered whether anyone could recommend a good pregnancy-related book for info on what we're about to go through!! thank you! xx

Oh congratulations! HOw lovely to get your BFP!

I love the book by Lesley Regan - I find it a fad week by week guide.

Hiya,
I got a book called Your Pregnancy Bible:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Your-Pregnancy-Bible-Experts-Parenthood/dp/1904760643/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1223300887&sr=8-1

Its sold it Mothercare but its much more expensive in there. It shows you week by week development of the baby as well as your body and covers a wide range of topics including the usual diet and exercise, fetal development, labour, birth and then goes on to have a detailed end section on what to do when the baby is born. It even covers how to wash and dress a baby and baby first aid! It also has a section for "tthe men" although I have yet to succeed in getting hubby to read that part but he is making his way through the book I bought for him called "your pregnant too mate" - very amusing as I have flicked through it myself!

Good luck with choosing, there are so many out there!!!

x

How rude of me, forgot to say congrats!! Soooo, BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!! Happy

Congrats bon!!! Am so chuffed for you!

I've got the same book as Flush (bought it at the weekend!)
I also read Mylene Klass's book every week, I love it!

We also got What to expect when you're expecting, but its a chunky read!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR BFP =)

I bought 'The Best Friends Guide To Pregnancy (or everything your doctor won't tell you) its a fun read and makes it a bit more light hearted rather than technical! x

wow thank u ladies! I'll definately buy one of those more serious books shortly - however, in the meantime I've bought the one recommended by vintage rose...was only £2 on ebay!
thank you again and I'm looking forward to spending more time on this board shortly! xxx
p.s. my BFP is a wedding anniversary bean! xxx

I loved reading the Mylene Klass book when I first discovered I was pg. Its not as scary as the more medical books and its fab to get everything from person's perspective instead of doctors, etc. Its a great read for a nosy person like me!

Now I'm 6 months gone I do read the more manual like books such as 'what to expect' and the Miriam Stoppard book as they help with more specific advise to being pg in the later stages.

Congrats and good luck! x
