Subject : Should I wake him?

Hi mummys, heres the 5th post in 2 days I think!
Theo is a really naughty boy at night. Last week he started going from 10-3 but now he's feeding at 1, 3 and 5am. He settles well when he's asleep but is up for about ab hr when he wakes. During the day he feeds and sleeps well but right now, he had his last feed at 10am and had about 5oz and has been asleep for about 2 hours. Should I wake him in the hope he'll sleep better in the night or is that just pointless?

I have read online and in a book I was given that 'the more a baby sleeps, the more a baby sleeps'. The better they sleep during the day, the better they sleep at night! I would just enjoy the peace!

when we trying to get ollie to sleep better in the night, we found that the more sleep he had uring the day the better he slept, and the earlier we put him to bed the later he woke up.... wierd eh.

He's still young - and could be going through a growth spurt...

let him sleep when he wants to , and if you can get some sleep while he does its a bonus. Happy

It is very weird that the earlier you put them to bed the later they wake up isn't it! I read somewhere that if a child starts waking up too early put them to be earlier!!!

I might give that a try tonight because we've been purposely keeping him up till 10 and the bathing him in the hope of tiring him out! But even looking around and fresh air makes them tired at this age doesnt it?

I'm very lucky that my hubby is happy to do alot of the night feeds and for the first few weeks he slept downstairs with Theo. But now we're all upstairs by the time I actually get hubby to wake up I might aswell go myself! He does the 5:30 feed though and leaves for work at 7 so I get a little bit more sleep.

it is true the more they sleep during the day the better they sleep at night... i mean brooke is 15 months now so prob quite a bit older than urs..( since i shub prob be in the toddler forum) but it still applies to her now. if she dosnt nap in the day she has a bad night and gets up about half 6-7 but if she has a full 2 hour nap she is brilliant and sleeps 7-8
anything in between is great but i like to her to have at least an hour to an hour and a half to get a good night out of her.!!!

so no i dont reccomend waking him let him sleep as much as he wants and see if he sleeps any better

I really dont know what to do! Today he fell asleep about 11, woke at 1:30pm for a feed and had a really big feed and has slept since! He woke up for about half an hour and did a poo and had a feed and is just dozing on hubby now. I've tried picking him up and kissing him, changing him and talking to him but he just sleeps!
Why cant he do this at night???!
