Subject : post natal depressiom 8 years on?????

hi guy's i hope you can help me. i had my daughter almost 8 years ago when i was only 20 & this may sound awful but i never bonded well and have always felt everything was a chore with her.
i was told by a health visitor when she was a baby that she thought i had post natal depression and i should see gp. anyway i never bothered and have just plodded along since.
i dont think i realised till i had my son in dec 2006 how i felt, as the bond with him was instant and still is. everything comes so natural without me feeling a black cloud is over me.
my daughter can be quite a maddam and recently since she's moved up to junior school she has been a nightmare to go to sleep of an eve and it can take up to 3 hours some nights & im feeling like i did all them years ago. i have just wanted to cry all day. i dread her coming home for school and then bedtime. please dont get me wrong i love my litle girl very much i just find my relationship is prob not like it should and i worry she see's the difference with my son.
is it pos to still have post natal depression? and only have this horrible guilt and black cloud feeling with just one child and not the other??? i know i should see doc/health visitor i just dont find it easy to talk about as i feel ashamed.
am i the only one who's feeling this??

Hi hun - I think it is very possible that you did have post natal depression, and though you may not have it now, your feelings from then (because you weren't treated) have carried on to now.

Please don't feel guilty, I am sure you love your daughter very much otherwise you wouldn't be worried about this. It sounds like couselling could help to help you understand why you feel the way you do.

Thanks hun, it is nice to hear kind words. I have tried talking to family members but i feel as though they are having a go at me or are not interested.
I have tried getting hold of health visitor as a first step but everytime i call no-one is available!! Will call again today.
