Subject : I have to stop ttc, feeling very low

Hi Girls,

Just a quick message to say goodbye for a while. I had a smear test come back with mild changes not long after I had my lo but convinced myself it was due to the fact I'd just had a baby. Went for my second test less than a month ago and I've just received a letter to say that the changes are still there and I have to go for Colposcopy and possible biopsy/treatment. Needless to say they have told me to use protection as a pregnancy would make treatment harder.

I've cried so much, one because I'm really scared of treatment and I hate anyone touching my cervix and secondly because I really want another baby. I only wanted a two year age gap and now it could be months before I can try again.

I must say that the Jade Goody news has come at the wrong time for me!

So good luck everyone and I hope you'll all be in the pregnancy forum when I return, you've been great to chat to and thanks for all the support you have given me over the months I have been here.

A very sad Lisa. x x x

Oh Lisa, I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I can't imagine how you must feel Sad

I hope that they get you treated quickly (have they said how long it might take?) and that you can get cracking with TTC again soon.

At the end of the day though your health is the most important thing. I'm sure you'll dust yourself off and pick yourself back up quickly.

Sending you big hugs and praying for quick and successful course of treatment for you.

Oh Lisa Marie - so sorry to hear that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be serious. One of my friends recently had to have some cells removed but is fine again now, so I hope that a) this is sorted out quickly for you and b) you can start ttc very soon.

We'll miss you, your beautiful wedding picture and your fantastic posts and advice until you come back x

Ok 4th time I've tried to post! What is going on??

I'm really sorry you are going through this Lisa. But you will come out the other side.

You said mild changes, which should give you a little PMA. It also sounds like it was caught early, which is really good. I can only imagine how you are feeling though. Sending you a big hug.

We will miss you on here. I hope you will let me know how you are through fb, if you feel you can.

Hope to see you back here really soon. xx

Oh Lisa you poor thing I am so sorry that this has happened to you and that you will have to put off trying for awhile. I have had a friend at work have this done so please email me if you want me to found out anything for you.I know she was very scared but said it was not as bad as she first throught and the staff were amazing.

Once that is done I am sure it will take no time at all for you to be able to start trying again.

Big hugs to you

Hiya Sweetie. Aww that's a blow for you - but you really need to get your health sorted that's the priority. Only mild changes are good so don't worry about that, you just have to make sure it doesn't get any worse. Don't compare yourself to Jade Goody, it sounds like things will be fine for you once youre treated. Once you get the date for your op you shouldn't take too long to heal.

Take Care and look after yourself - I'll be sorry to see you go but look forward to seeing you on here again.

So sorry to hear your news Lisa Marie. At least it has been noticed and they can get treating you straight away. Like Flush said, I know people who have had the cells removed and all has been fine quickly afterwards. Not much comfort for you now I know but hopefully you won't be away from ttc for long. We will miss your posts, and you know you can always come back on for a bit if support if you feel down and want to talk.

I'll be saying a little prayer for you on Sunday and I hope you start feeling better soon. You could be back to ttc sooner than you think and to a lovely BFP too.

Big cyber hugs

S xx

Hi Lisa,

I just wanted to offer my support.

In 2003 I had an abnormal smear and was sent for a colposcopy, they took a little biopsy and sent it off, they decided I needed treatment and I had a loop excision of the cervix.

From the smear results to the actual op was no more than 2 months.

So it may not be as long a wait as you think, although still as frustrating as hell I'm sure.

So try and stay positive, you've kept on top of it so I'm sure it's no more than some abnormal cells that they treat quickly and easily and you can move on with trying for baby number 2! But you're right to prioritise it.

I'm assuming they are now referring you to a hospital for the colposcopy? If you have private healthcare, use it to speed it up, if not ask that the doctors ask the hospital for a speedy appointment as your TTC and keep on at them until you get it. Could also speed it up if you're are open to either sex consultant (if you are) for the record I had a male doc once and was very nervous but he was the nicest doc I'd had. The woman was a cold cow!!

Good luck and lots of PMA!!

L xx

Hi, I just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear your news. I had mild changes on my smear after having my lo and have got to go back in 2 weeks for another one to see if the changes are still there......I am also trying to convince myself that it's because I just had a baby 2 months before.

Good luck with your treatment and I hope that you get back to ttc soon.

Hi Lisa

I am quite new on here, so you wont know me, but this I had abnormal cells, and then I had a colscopy, a cone biopsy and then some cells lasered off (not sure if this is what you are having).

Like the other ladies said, this happenned very quickly with appointments and last year I got the all clear. Totally understand what you are going through.

Sending you loads of hugs. xxx
