i hav 4 sons and trying 4 another child!! yes im mad! i had all my children at hosptial wiv no major probs but the l aftercare i recieved wiv my last son who is 17 mnts woz shocking i wud love a homebirth but i hav a small hole in my heart and need antibiotics in labour though a drip so do u think this could b a problem 4 me? id like ur views on this plz.

Hi, not sure how it goes with your heart problem, i would check with the midwife, maybe phone your antenatal department at your local hospital.
As for trying for number 5 i'd say why not!! I'm pregnant with number 5, I have a girl and 3 boys so hopefully this one is a girl! I had my last 2 at home and it was great and they both went really well. I'm hoping to have another home birth but i have big babies so they might not let me this time, the last one was 10lb 4oz!

OMG!!! 10lb 4oz how did u manage that! my 3rd son woz 9lb 12oz and he broke his coller bone (bless him) coz he woz such a pudding and still is!lol! but yeah i will defo look in 2 it! i really wud love a home birth this time! let us no how u get on wiv ur baby makin! ive bn on the folic acid and goin 2 stay tryin after we get bk off ur hols in a couple ov wk!! how old r ur children? mine r 17mnts,5,8 and 9.

I don't know whether to find out or not, because it's the last one and would love to wait and see til the birth but on the other hand it would like to find out at the scan because i really want a girl this time after having 3 boys with my partner, i think i would be dissapointed if we found out it was a boy at the birth, if we found out at the scan i would have time to get used to it! lol! sorry to ramble!!

I have a daughter from before i met my partner she is 9 and my partner had 3 girls before we we met who are 9,7 and 5! We have only had boys together age 4,2 and 11 months which is why i'd love a girl!!

This is going to have to be my last one. we couldn't possibly have anymore! lol! I think i want to train to be a midwife when all the kids have gone to school full time. My partner has just lost his job so we are both out of work at the mo but he is thinking about going back into the army. The only thing is, is that he has to go away for up to 26wks for his training, which i'm dreading because i can't even drive yet!!

What about you, do you work? How do you find it now the kids are getting older, because i only have 2 of them in full time school and i can't wait for them all to be in school so i can have at least some of my life back!! And i haven't even had the last yet! lol

hi u must b gutted about ur partners job. n goin away 4 training 4 26 wks dont no if i cud cope alone all that time wud he come home at wkends? r u havin driving lessons? id b lost wivout my car i hav 2 say when the kids drive me mad i just throw them in the car n normally take them 2my mums!lol! no i dont work i woz a care assistant but wiv havin 4 now it is just easier 2 stay at home but i get soooo bored sometimes!
i found out wiv my last son coz i woz conviced he woz a girl coz everything woz so diffrent n a am ashamed 2 admit i woz alil gutted but he is a lil angel he is so good and easy and the best sleeper of the lot! when is ur scan?

I was thinking about your little one when you said about him braking his coller bone, i think that would be a big problem for you having a home birth because when i had my last one they were saying your best of at hospital because we don't know how big he's going to be, but they let me.

Hopefully but won't know till i get closer to birth cos of the size! Not really been feeling sick but had really bad headaches the past fews days! I had my 12wk scan and it all went ok just can't wait to find out what sex it is!

Rhyl isn't too far away but i'm originally from colwyn bay which is even closer so we may well have passed in the street before!! lol

Hi both of you, Clare, is there any way you can have the antibiotics orally instead? I know what hospitals are like and I think you are likely to be told you are not allowed a home birth. I had 2 instrumental deliveries with my first 2 and that was the reason I was told I wouldn't be allowed to have a home birth - hospital stupid policies and all that - but I had one anyway and it was the best day of our lives!! If this is your last (and even more importantly if you get your little girl!!), and after uncomplicated deliveries with you others it would be wonderful for you to have a lovely home birth as your last birth experience to remember forever!! I didn't have good hospital experiences either and after 2 boys, having our little girl at home was so fantastic.
If you really want one you might need to fight them but if you explain everything (ie bad experience and no problem births before) and insist that you want a home birth hopefully they will help you to have one. I'll look forward to hearing your sex news, fingers crossed!!

Michelle, my 2nd was 10lbs 3 1/2 oz so I was scared my 3rd would be larger at home but she was only 9lbs 2 0z . I also know of a lady who had an 11lber at home. I don't know how keen you are on your home birth but you wouldn't get me near a hospital again and especially when they are usually quite inaccurate with estimating birth weights.

Also, both of you, I posted on the hot topic website about having 3 or more children and as you both do, I would love to hear your views and experience. Thanks xx

hiya michelle, u still around soz ive not bn in touch ad a few crazy weeks bn on a camping hol wiv the kids, went 2 alton towers it woz wkd!! u ever bn? alil dissapointed though my 9 yr old bottled goin on any of the big rides wiv me and he woz sooo up 4 it until he seen them!
my 5 yr old wanted 2 go on them but is 2 short (bless him). also bn 2 benidorm wivout my kids ( can i just say this is the first time i hav ever left my kiddies) so i dont feel 2 gulity and my mum did a fab job wiv them and my house woz the cleanes iv ever seen it !!!lol!! ad a brill time ive never had soo much fun r drank sooo much!! and didnt get hangova well impressed! also got kai chrisened and its about time he is 18 mnts
