Subject : Im young, He's old!!

Im 23 and my DH is 43, with 2 kids from a previous marriage. I feel that time is against us as I dont want DH to be too old to raise more children. I know they are fertile for longer than women, but I want him to be able to do Dad things, without getting tired.

Just wondering, How old are you and your OH? Anyone else in the situation as me?

xx

Hi glittergal,

I wouldn't worry about the age gap, so many celebrity men have had babies in their 60's and 70's I am sure you will be fine!

I'm 24 and hubby is 28 so can't really give advice from experience but if he's already got 2 children its a pretty good sign!

I hope you get your BFP soon x

OH MY WORD-You pinched my situation!!!

I'm 26 (27 next week) and my OH is 47. We are engaged and planning the wedding but we have finally had the talk, that we have been avoiding for ages cause it makes us sad, and decided that we are going to try for a baby.

The only thing is, is that he is concious of his age - which I get. Therefore, we have a window between now and May next year, and from April 2010 (after wedding) until the end of 2010 when he turns 50.

I honestly get your side of the situation. He has a child from his first marriage and adores him (he's 14) and they have a very active relationship, playing sport and things like that. I just feel that you cut the cloth. If my OH can't physically run around, teaching the little tyke to play cricket or football, then they play golf! Alternatively, the bambino may have my sporting ability and therefore, would not be an option!!

I feel that you are right, and although celebritties have babies in their 70's, makes me wonder if it is really fair on all parties, and so the sooner the better in my eyes! But then again, thats because i'm feeling very broody and need it to happen NOW!!!!

Aw hunni, don't worry about it, i'm sure he will be a fantastic dad and do all the 'dad' things lol. I don't think it has anything to with age, its all about how young you feel! I'm not in the same situation but stil didn't wanna r+r. I'm only 21 and OH is 24

Hi babe try not to worry about it too much. I am 28 and my hubby is 39 and we have jsut had our first child together a little boy called Ashton who is 11 weeks old. Oh already has a 15 yr old daughter from a preivious relationship!
Couldn't really ask for a better partner or father for my child, he does everything that I do and adores our little boy and we are currently trying for baby no 2! Although he does worry about being an 'old' Dad so wants me to fall pregnant again before his 40th birthday which is in April.
Good luck!!! Tammi & Ashton xxx

Hi glittergal, my situation is the other way round: I'm 36 and hubby is 28. I'm hoping that his puppyhood will cancel out my, well, foxy maturity and get us a baby quicksticks!!
