Subject : When should i drop 5th bottle?

So weaning is coming along, going to introduce a 3rd meal this week. But when should i drop dream feed. I'm just about to go to bed Erin has eaten well today so thinking maybe i'll just not offer it tonight and see what happens. We have tried to drop it before but she has always woken up any time between 3-5 for a feed which kind of messes up the day a bit. What do you think shall i just give it a go? or will i kick myself in the early hours??

Thanks Tiger Lily, you're right and tbh she isn't really taking a lot at 11 am so maybe i should just drop that one, but sometimes wish me and oh could go to bed early. not that i should complain about a 10 min feed at 11pm when she sleeps from 7pm-7am doesn't even wake slightly for dream feed, thanks again hun x

Hi,

My lo has just dropped from 5 feeds to 3 over the last 2 weeks. Basically she was on the below routine

8am - 7oz milk followed by porridge
12noon - 7 oz bottle followed by lunch
3.30pm - 7 oz bottle
7.00pm - 7 oz bottle followed by baby rice and fruit
10.30pm - Dream feed 7 oz bottle

What we did was change her feeding a little as follows

8am - 7 oz bottle
9am - Porridge
12noon - lunch (protein and veg followed by a yoghurt) then finish with a bottle (she only took 3oz for a few days then wasn't interested anymore so now dropped)
3.30pm - 7 oz bottle
5.30pm - supper - veg puree and pudding (offer water in cup)
7.30pm - 7 oz bottle
10.00pm - 7 oz dream feed (now dropped after a few days)

She now sleeps through 8 til 8 and its great. It did take her a few days to get used to the routine though and we kept offering the dream feed until she just took an ounze or two.
